Thanks to all of the supplies donated through this classroom project I was able to greet my new fifth grade classes with a stocked up classroom. Supplies needed for success were set out from the first day of school. \r\n\r\nI was able to provide supplies to students who did not/were not able to bring supplies/enough supplies without having them feel any shame for not bringing their supplies in. I was able to direct them to the closet full of supplies that left them in awe and asking me how i \"got all this stuff.\"\r\n\r\nStudents who didn't bring notebooks didn't have to worry about hoarding a ton of loose-leaf paper. Pencils beat up from the first month of September were already replaced. Students with sniffles had tissues instead of rough school bathroom paper. Work has been shown on dry erase boards. Copies of assignments have been made.\r\n\r\nAll in all your generosity has made my students' year a lot more stress free. I received them on Friday morning. On that same morning that I received the package my students were going to take a math test. The styluses came in handy and in use right away. I unpacked the styluses, let my first class choose the color stylus that they wanted, and went around labeling the styluses with their computer number as they worked on their math test. The comfy areas in our classroom are an important part of our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe now have new rugs that the students themselves are held accountable for cleaning. The students use the vacuum cleaner to ensure that the rugs, floor chairs, and couches are always clean for them to enjoy. It is such a popular and special part of our classroom that I had to create a schedule of who gets to use it when to keep up with the demand.\r\n\r\nThanks to Donors Choose donations we've gotten over the past two years we've gotten this small couch, 3 small floor chairs, and 3 wobble chairs. This has ensured that 8 students during each class session have a fun and comfy place to sit that is not a regular chair. Students demonstrate their leadership skills as they distribute roles in their groups. It also has enough writing space for more than one student to come show their work at the same time. \r\n\r\nI love that the board is vertical so it does not take too much classroom space and the wheels allow me to move the board where needed. \r\n\r\nThis dry erase board has supplemented our classroom instruction tremendously.
