When I first heard of DonorsChoose it was something I quite didn't believe in. I wasn't so sure it was real. I was convinced by my colleague here at MS 218 in the Bronx, NY to apply so I did. We received the equipment we needed without hesitation and hassle free. \r\n\r\nThe ball carrier meant for basketballs has really made organizing more efficient. It includes wheels which helps haul it around from the gym to the equipment closet. The bonus to it is that it has attached hooks as well as a basket underneath in order to carry extra things. \r\n\r\nThe birdies/shuttle cocks have also been very beneficial to our program. We often use Badminton as a reward to our students and have enough birdies is a must. It will also help me out when I do Badminton unit later in the school year in which I run a grade by grade tournament! I call it Badminton Madness and the prize for each grade winner is a pizza party. By far our most popular unit. \r\n\r\nAlso. We received an abundance of floor tape which will be very useful in all that we do here at 218. Lately, some of them have gathered their friends to read as a group, and when my classroom is filled with students working on projects during lunch, my younger readers sit outside the room to read and celebrate the gifts that YOU have made possible for them.\r\n\r\nThe majority of my students do not have grown ups who read with them or to them at home for a multitude of reasons, including the fact that many parents come home extremely tired from work and lack the stamina needed to read to their children at night.
