With the dictionaries, students have been collaborating when completing writing tasks. Those who can read use the small word dictionaries, while the majority who have yet to learn how to read fluently, use the visual dictionaries to find the pictures of what they need then write the word in the language needed for that day. The excitement when they write words on their own and extra options for more writing since the dictionaries are sectioned by categories like: At School, Underwater Animals, At the Farm. The markers are a mainstay in all tables, they are used for math, phonics, and small group times. I appreciate this gift so much, my students are able to work independently pausing less often to ask for support.","fullyFundedDate":1749511006912,"projectUrl":"project/give-students-ownership-of-their-dual-la/9385947/","projectTitle":"Give Students Ownership of their Dual Language Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Aponte","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9224077_orig.jpg?crop=273,273,x288,y369&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693009331543","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9224077"},{"teacherId":9717970,"projectId":9108032,"letterContent":"Ever since receiving the package, the children have been thriving in the classroom and expressing their feelings more. I created a designated Calm Corner filled with the donated books, social-emotional visuals, fidget toys, and other tools. This space has truly become a safe area where the children can go to regulate themselves.\r\n\r\nSince building this area, I've seen such a positive change—the children are expressing themselves more, understanding their emotions better, and learning different ways to take care of themselves when they feel a certain way. They've even started checking in with each other and having conversations about their feelings. This calm corner has really opened the door for my students to grow in self-expression and emotional awareness.","fullyFundedDate":1748485124039,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-classroom-where-every-emotion/9108032/","projectTitle":"Building a Classroom Where Every Emotion is Supported","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mateo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9717970_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739247807341","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9717970"},{"teacherId":238862,"projectId":9083438,"letterContent":"Thank you for bringing a variety of snacks into the hands (and tummies) of my students!
