Your gift allowed us to record sound, use appropriate lighting for our scenes and do a couple of cool action stunts. So thank you. \r\n\r\nWe used a rolling tripod as a way to re-create kids being chased on the hallway by a zombie teacher. The scene was hilarious and the kids had so much fun making it. It allowed us to be creative and for those who were on the spectrum, it allowed us to move from the world of being literal to being figurative, imaginative and creative.\r\n\r\nYour generous gift of allowing us to have awesome sound equipment allowed our movie not only to be shot beautifully, but to be compelling with its audio. Without your generous donation, we would've never had cameras which would've never allowed us to capture our actors and fellow classmates on video. Simply put without you we would not have a movie, though you may not be on camera you are a significant part of helping us tell our stories.\r\n\r\nWith your generous donation, we were able to tell two stories. The first story is about a student who finds himself at the mercy of a bully only to discover a secret world where he can express and be himself however, this newfound confidence comes at a price when he decides to become a bully himself and and thus loses access to this beautiful secret world. Our other story that we are currently editing is a funny action packed comedy in which one of our teachers becomes a zombie. The movie does have a lot of heart in that it tells a story of two brothers in which the older finds the younger, extremely annoying, until it is the younger brother who ends up saving the day and society from a crazy zombie teacher only defined the love and acceptance he's so desired from his older brother.\r\n\r\nAgain, these stories would've never been able to be captured in video if it wasn't for you. We are also in the process of editing our final film. Without your generous support, we would've never been able to use Adobe Premier in order to edit our films. Our previous laptops were just too old to use the program without it freezing.\r\n\r\nStudents have learned how to put together different characters and different places in order to tell a compelling story using the medium a video and with the help of your generous gift to allow us to edit it. Students have learned about storytelling and for those who are on the spectrum this can be challenging. Typically students who are on the spectrum are quite literal and struggle with creative and figurative expression such as imaginary characters, but again we have been able to tell wonderful stories about a teacher who becomes a zombie as well as a story about bullying.\r\n\r\nStudents have been able to work independently in the medium of storytelling as well as a group which has allowed us to grow and foster those all important social skills. Words cannot express our gratitude for giving us this opportunity to finish our films. We could not have done it without you.","fullyFundedDate":1742943532168,"projectUrl":"project/special-needs-students-need-laptops-to-e/9132816/","projectTitle":"Special Needs Students Need Laptops To Edit Their Student Films","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Melissa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9491207_orig.jpg?crop=183,183,x58,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1740708202951","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9491207"},{"teacherId":9599624,"projectId":8507192,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous gift to my classroom and students.
