Apologies for the lateness of this thank you. Please know that its lateness was a reflection of how busy the year has been. \r\nHaving this project funded was a lovely way to begin the year. We had 25 lovely second grade students at all different levels that benefited from your thoughtfulness, as did I. \r\n\r\nThis project was full of necessary, somewhat random items that are all important to our classroom's organization and day to day operations. It was hard to believe, but, we used all 500 pencils and then some. The magnetic easel was wonderful for small groups. The headphones allowed students to use their devices without distracting their neighbors. The SPOT bundle helped us teach some self-regulation and co-regulation skills. The math tools of rulers, clocks, and number cards helped us in our whole and small group work. The Donors Choose gift cards allowed me to buy much needed materials for my small group work and lesson differentiation for students with special needs.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping our busy classroom run more effectively and for helping me buy materials that directly impact student learning!","fullyFundedDate":1726659602546,"projectUrl":"project/starting-the-year-off-strong/8583396/","projectTitle":"Starting the Year off Strong","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mary Fox","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5791188"},{"teacherId":1721482,"projectId":8613503,"letterContent":"On behalf of all my K-5 students and myself, I want to extend my deepest thanks for your generous support of our speech therapy project. Because of your contributions—and the incredible support from the SONIC Foundation—our classroom has been transformed into a more engaging, multisensory, and effective learning environment where communication skills are blooming each day.\r\n\r\nThe moment my students walked in and saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. From the Alphabet Mystery Box to the Snap & Build CVC Words kits, every item has become an essential tool in our sessions. One unforgettable moment was watching a group of emerging readers independently use the Magnetic Category Sorting Rods to classify vocabulary they had just learned. They were so proud of themselves—and so was I!\r\n\r\nThe new phonics, vowels, and blends book sets have allowed us to implement targeted instruction for students working on decoding and word-building, and the Elkonin boxes and dry erase phonics board have become our daily go-toss for phonemic awareness activities. My students aren't just practicing these skills during therapy—they're now generalizing them in their classroom environments. Teachers have shared how students are segmenting and blending words with more confidence during reading time and participating more actively in discussions using the vocabulary we've reinforced through games and visuals.\r\n\r\nThis project has truly enhanced learning—not just in the therapy room, but across the school day. Because of these materials, I've been able to provide more differentiated, hands-on instruction tailored to each child's needs. Your support has empowered me to reach every student more effectively, especially those with language delays and social-emotional needs.\r\n\r\nA heartfelt thank you to the SONIC Foundation for making this possible. Your investment in my students has had an immediate and powerful impact. You've helped build a stronger bridge between speech therapy and classroom success—and for that, I am profoundly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1728312667591,"projectUrl":"project/reading-in-the-speech-room/8613503/","projectTitle":"Reading in the Speech Room","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Diaz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1721482_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1506224468712","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1721482"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_105087","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.1,"schoolId":105087,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 94 Annex on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 94 Annex","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-94-annex/105087"}
