The plastic pineapples have many different smiles, mustaches, eyes and sunglasses, and includes a chart for students to use to create and compare facial expressions. The Learning Resources Skate Park Engineering & Design Building Set was very engaging. Students enjoyed sending the skateboard down the ramps. In my science class, students used the graduated cylinders, beakers, and pipettes, as we learned the properties of liquids. Students practiced fine motor skills using water droppers and pouring water into various containers. My students are very creative and talented in so many ways, and these materials were used to support students in art class. \r\nStudents used the blank books to write their own stories with their own drawings. The markers provided bright, fresh colors for students to illustrate their books. \r\nThe books about various artists and art materials were able to give my students many ideas about illustrations for their stories. The sketchbooks were useful for students to practice drawings for the stories. With the materials in my project, our school was able to have an exhibit of the butterfly farm showing the caterpillars eating and growing before becoming a chrysalis, the pupa stage of the painted lady butterflies. When the adult butterflies began to emerge, the students were very excited and interested in seeing the insects flying and flapping their wings. Students are often agitated or stressed, and sensory items such as slime to squish, slinky sequins to smooth or flip over, or small toys to play with, to calm and soothe themselves.
