The chair for the desk has provided a comfortable and supportive seating option for a student who benefits from improved posture and focus. Our new puzzle rack has created an inviting space for hands-on learning, problem-solving, and collaboration during centers and choice time. The dry erase markers are used daily for quick checks for understanding, small-group instruction, and interactive lessons where every student can participate.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to explore the puzzles, use the markers, and take responsibility for the organized containers. Several students proudly commented on how \"neat\" and \"fun\" the classroom looked, and they were motivated to keep everything tidy and ready to use.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, the next steps for our students include using these resources to build independence and confidence during current lessons. Getting to print on 8x10 paper is also a special treat, most of the time we use 5x7 paper, and the students know they are getting to do something extra special. \r\n\r\nWe also used a little of the paper to create some cyanotype photograms (you place objects on top of the photo paper and expose it to like, which leaves a ghost like image), we used a variety of materials to create snowflakes, which created these really beautiful snow images that we hung up on our gallery wall in the art studio. I want to share a quick update on how the items you helped provide — a laminating machine, laminating pouches, and Velcro dots — have made a measurable difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe materials we received allowed us to create durable laminated cards, task strips, and visuals that can withstand daily wear, spills, and frequent handling. Velcro dots enable flexible, leveled activities, such as matching vocabulary cards with their definitions. This approach lets students work at their own pace, and the same baseboard can be reused with different cards for various groups. These resources also promote independence and engagement by allowing students to manipulate the pieces through activities like matching, sorting, and sequencing. This not only builds fine motor skills but also boosts confidence and increases active learning time.\r\n\r\nLaminated visual schedules with Velcro icons help students manage transitions independently, resulting in smoother morning routines and fewer staff prompts.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your support—these small tools are facilitating measurable improvements in student engagement, independence, and instructional time. Many of my students struggle with sensory regulation, attention, and managing big emotions throughout the school day. When they become overwhelmed, it's not because they don't want to learn — it's because they need tools that help their minds and bodies feel safe.\r\n\r\nTo support them, I am creating Sensory Spaces for Stress-Free Learning, filled with materials that help students recharge, refocus, and rejoin our lessons with confidence. The items in this project — sorting activities, sensory toys, wobble cushions, and bubble poppers — each play a meaningful role in helping students succeed:\r\n\r\nSorting activities strengthen fine motor skills, problem-solving, and focus. They give students a quiet, engaging way to reset their brains while still building essential skills.\r\n\r\nSensory toys help students channel extra energy, reduce stress, and stay grounded during moments of frustration or overstimulation.\r\n\r\nWobble cushions allow students who need movement to sit comfortably and stay engaged without disrupting their learning or their classmates.\r\n\r\nBubble poppers offer a simple but incredibly effective calming tool for students who need tactile input to settle their bodies and regain focus.\r\n\r\nThese tools may look small, but they create big change. When a student has a safe and supportive sensory option, they are more likely to stay engaged in learning, manage emotions independently, and feel proud rather than overwhelmed.\r\n\r\nThank you, donors, for your generosity, compassion, and belief in our students. Your support does more than supply materials — it creates an environment where children feel understood, supported, and capable.
