Many of these resources aren't found in standard curriculum packages — they're made by educators who understand what it's like to be in the classroom, and it shows.\r\nA favorite activity was a set of interactive literacy centers that focused on sight words and beginning sounds. Because I was able to select differentiated resources, I could meet each student exactly where they were. Some worked with Velcro matching boards, others traced letters in sensory bins, and a few began reading simple emergent readers downloaded from TpT. Several students immediately began flipping through the pages, pointing at illustrations, and excitedly asking questions about the characters. One of my students, who usually needs extra time to engage, sat quietly for an entire story, completely captivated. That moment alone was unforgettable.\r\n\r\nSince then, we've been using the books during our morning circle and social-emotional learning time. Each week, we highlight a new book and focus on a specific theme — like helping others, using kind words, or including everyone. After each reading, we talk about the story, act out scenarios, and even practice what we learned during playtime.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our class involve creating a \"Kindness Tree\" — every time a student shows kindness, they'll add a leaf to the tree. It's already beginning to bloom! We're also integrating writing and drawing by having students reflect on what kindness looks like to them, even if it's just one word or picture.\r\n\r\nYour donation did so much more than provide books — it helped create a culture of compassion in a classroom that truly needs it. The majority of my students do not have access to computers at home. Without the constant technology frustrations, my students have been more excited and engaged in their learning.
