Some of my students come to school without breakfast, and others may not know when their next meal will be. Having healthy, readily available snacks in our classroom allows me to quietly support students without making them feel embarrassed or singled out.\r\n\r\nWhen a child is hungry, it can be difficult to focus, participate, read, solve a math problem, or simply make it through the school day. Young artists then used the brightly colored and patterned papers to cut out shapes and begin layering and pasting onto the canvas board to design their dream house. \r\nThere was great excitement in the room as each new material was set out to be used. Students were very pleased with their final products.
