The impact you had on these children is immeasurable. The students were so excited and grateful when all of the packages started to arrive! They were very eager to help carry the boxes up to the classroom, unbox, sort through, and organize all of the supplies that came in.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, I was able to provide each and every student with a warm hat, gloves and lip balm (invaluable during our frigid and windy Buffalo winters). When we had several snow/virtual days back in February due to record-breaking freezing temperatures, I was able to send each child home with an extensive care package of juice, granola bars, chips/crackers, assorted snacks and candy, mac & cheese, and cookies so they would not go hungry when they were out of the building and not receiving the two free meals that they have daily at school. Many of the other treats were incorporated into our classroom prize box that students are rewarded with choosing from as an incentive for positive classroom behavior.\r\n\r\nThe students enjoy sitting on the floor pillows when they are working in small groups or reading in our class library. They also love to wrap the blanket around themselves when it's cold. The hygiene products such as hair ties, soap, and body wipes have been a game changer; particularly when they return to the classroom after running around and sweating in gym class. The kiddos very much like the fun and colorful bandages that dress up their minor scrapes and cuts and keep them learning in the classroom instead of losing instructional time to visit the nurse. Some of the girls also appreciate that we always have feminine hygiene products on hand when they need them.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generosity of spirit and everything you have given and donated to the students in our classroom.
