We are so happy for your donation of colored ink which we needed to continue our printing. As we all know, bright colors naturally draw the eye, making children more likely to focus on the page instead of getting distracted. The colors made our learning materials feel friendlier, less intimidating, and more \"fun.\" They were warm, cheerful colors like yellow, orange, or light green that created a positive emotional response, which boosted my students' willingness to engage. I felt like a \"winner\".\r\n\r\n\r\nAs an educator, I learned that the brain is more likely to remember information when it's presented with color cues. A well-designed, colorful chart or worksheet can feel like a \"special\" learning tool rather than a boring assignment, making the child proud to complete it and show it off, and we were able to create many of those. My students were definitely motivated and a lot happier with the color.\r\n\r\nWe appreciate your donation and will make the very best of our color printer and ink as we continue to spark conversations and collaborative learning. Thanks to Quill and all our donors.","fullyFundedDate":1746739882981,"projectUrl":"project/color-reveals-the-true-image/9191735/","projectTitle":"Color Reveals The True Image","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Thompson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9720729"},{"teacherId":6748334,"projectId":8834224,"letterContent":"I want to give you all a HUGE thank you for the impact that you have made in my classroom for my students. My class is comprised of students with special needs, with varying ability levels. They each have their own learning style from visual, kinesthetic, auditory, etc. It is difficulty to find resources in our programs that meet their individual needs. Being able to supplement their learning with the resources that this project provided has made their learning more hands-on, fun, engaging and memorable. They look forward each day to utilizing different tools to help enhance their phonetic ability so that the can learn to read fluently. Having multiple choices for sensory outlets has made their attention during lessons and activities increase, thereby making a positive impact in their learning. \r\n\r\nIn Title 1 schools in the inner-city, teachers use a lot of their own funds and resources to fill in those gaps in materials, especially for differently-abled students. Being able to have materials that will be able to be utilized for more than one year will create a lasting impact on my current and future students. \r\n\r\nI thank you for your generosity, care and thoughtfulness.","fullyFundedDate":1734806083206,"projectUrl":"project/a-phonics-filled-class/8834224/","projectTitle":"A Phonics-Filled Class","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Munnelly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6748334"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_3707","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":523,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":81,"percentAsian":13,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":77,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":70.6,"schoolId":3707,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 254 Rosa Parks Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 254 Rosa Parks Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-254q/3707"}
