These include vocabulary cards and sentence starters that help students clearly express their thinking and participate more confidently in class. This is especially helpful for students who need additional language support, as it allows them to engage with the same content as their peers while building academic language skills.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students has been using engaging, visually appealing materials that feel relevant to them. Seeing resources available in both English and Spanish helps students feel represented and supported. Many students are more willing to participate when they have tools like sentence starters that guide their responses and reduce anxiety about making mistakes.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were previously hesitant to speak or write have really warmed up to this new technology. With the added language supports, they are contributing more during discussions and showing increased confidence in their work. It has been rewarding to see their growth and excitement for learning.","fullyFundedDate":1758899048372,"projectUrl":"project/dual-language-double-the-fun/9666525/","projectTitle":"Dual Language, Double the Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Palaguachi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9987653_orig.jpg?crop=688,688,x0,y282&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746397813388","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9987653"},{"teacherId":7452311,"projectId":9684030,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in providing our classroom with new headphones, fidgets, ink, and organizational bins. While many of you use technology at home, you may not always see how powerful these tools can be in a school setting. The headphones help students focus during online reading lessons, language-learning activities, and educational games by reducing distractions and giving each child a personal audio space. The fidgets have become invaluable for students who need sensory support to stay calm and attentive, and the ink and bins help keep our classroom running smoothly and efficiently each day.\r\n\r\nOur students are especially excited about the new headphones—many of them love being able to clearly hear their lessons and enjoy interactive learning without background noise. Several students who usually struggle with focus have shown tremendous improvement now that they can tune in to lessons without feeling overwhelmed. Others who are quieter or more hesitant to participate have become more confident using technology because the tools help them feel more independent.\r\n\r\nIn particular, a few students who have sensory needs have truly warmed to the new fidgets and headphones. One student who often found it difficult to sit through reading lessons is now fully engaged, using a fidget to stay calm while listening closely with the headphones. Another student, who usually rushes through work, has learned to slow down and focus thanks to the structure and organization the new supplies provide. Your contributions are making a meaningful difference every single day, and we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1758899240822,"projectUrl":"project/helping-little-ears-bright-ideas-shine/9684030/","projectTitle":"Helping Little Ears & Bright Ideas Shine","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Muller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7452311_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757016139383","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7452311"},{"teacherId":9988103,"projectId":9219065,"letterContent":"When my students first saw our new materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They were so eager to explore the tools, and it was heartwarming to watch their curiosity turn into hands-on learning. Having these items has already made a huge difference in our sessions.\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite activities has been using Play-Doh to strengthen fine motor skills. Students roll it into shapes, letters, and numbers, turning practice into play. The Lakeshore Magic Board Pre-Writing Practice Cards have also been a hit. Students are fascinated by the magnetic lines as they trace, and it has made handwriting practice feel fun and engaging. Another highlight is the Alphabet Puzzle, which I place in a sensory bin filled with beans and beads. Students love digging through the bin to match and find letters, combining tactile exploration with literacy skills.\r\n\r\nI will continue to use these tools to support my students' development in fine motor, visual motor, and pre-writing skills. These resources open the door to new ideas and concepts, and I look forward to building on their excitement as we work on even more activities together. Thank you for helping bring these joyful learning moments into our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1750284033734,"projectUrl":"project/play-based-learning-for-bright-young-min/9219065/","projectTitle":"Play-Based Learning for Bright Young Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Susan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9988103_orig.jpg?crop=2288,2288,x483,y1118&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750297078609","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/susansotclass"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_1070","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":659,"numTeachers":68,"percentFrplEligible":61,"percentAsian":27,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":41,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.2,"schoolId":1070,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 150 Queens on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 150 Queens","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-150-queens/1070"}
