These engaging, age-appropriate resources brought real-world topics to life for our students, connecting what we learned in class to current events. Having access to these magazines transformed our reading lessons, helping students practice comprehension, vocabulary, and nonfiction text features in a fun and meaningful way.\r\n\r\nEach week, our students looked forward to exploring a new issue together. The colorful photos and interactive activities keep them engaged and eager to learn more. It truly fostered a love of reading and curiosity about the world around them.\r\n\r\nThanks to Donors Choose donors, we were able to make science and social studies come alive in a way that traditional textbooks simply cannot. We am so grateful for the donors' generosity—it not only enriched our students' learning this year but also helped build foundational reading and critical-thinking skills that will benefit them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1753410574345,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-students-see-the-world/9474573/","projectTitle":"Help My Students See the World!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Spencer and Ms. Rivera","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4825215"},{"teacherId":1072667,"projectId":9192312,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation! We recently completed a hands-on project where students worked in small groups to explore [insert topic, e.g., \"the water cycle\" or \"simple machines\"] using the new materials. Watching them collaborate, problem-solve, and present their findings with such confidence was incredibly rewarding. It's clear these tools are helping students deepen their understanding while also building critical thinking skills.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room when the materials first arrived was unforgettable! My students' faces lit up as we unpacked each item — you could feel the energy shift. Many of them couldn't wait to dive in and start using the new tools, especially those who typically struggle with more traditional learning approaches. Thanks to your support, we have been able to provide our students with access to BrainPOP ELL, a comprehensive English language learning program.\r\n\r\nBrainPOP ELL has transformed our learning environment by offering engaging and interactive resources that cater to the diverse needs of our multilingual learners. The animated short movies, interactive games, and printable resources have made learning English both enjoyable and effective. Our students are now more confident in their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.\r\n\r\nOne of the most significant benefits of BrainPOP ELL is its ability to provide differentiated instruction. Each student can learn at their own pace, with content tailored to their proficiency level. This personalized approach has led to noticeable improvements in their language skills and overall academic performance.\r\n\r\nMoreover, BrainPOP ELL has helped our students prepare for important assessments, such as the Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment (OELPA). The stress-free practice opportunities have boosted their confidence and readiness for these exams.\r\n\r\nYour donation has not only provided essential educational tools but has also fostered a positive and inclusive learning environment. My project asked for Weighted Lap Pad, a sensory tool that offers deep calming pressure, increasing the ability to focus, and relieving anxiety. It gives kids with the wiggles a comforting sense of security and has a relaxing effect on the body and mind. Unfortunately, these lap pads were unavailable on the vendor list. So I did the next best thing: I ordered materials to have students MAKE their OWN mini lap pads! \r\n\r\nAs the yoga program in our school goes from K-5, I started out with a self-contained, bridge 3-5 Special Needs class. My students were so excited when I came in with the materials and about the project they were about to do. Cheers all around! My goal for using the Weighted Lap Pads and/or creating them was to give students a sense of relaxation, grounding, security, and be ability to self-soothe and regulate which are essential at school and home. \r\n\r\nThis project incorporated mindfulness wherein the students really focused on putting together their mini lap pads. It gave them ownership of their development of coping mechanisms for stress, grounding and focus.
