The climate and culture of the class was also impacted. Students who participated were granted treats and the winners rewarded even more from our classroom stash. They were allowed to pick whatever they desired. The students worked hard for a sweet treat. \r\nIt is amazing how a rice crispy treat or beef jerky strip works as a motivational tool. This was always a good way to review and to check for mastery. The opportunity to see the student compete impacted as well how attentive the students were with lesson days later.\r\n\r\nSometimes students need a boost and for this case the students definitely came to life.
