The children have practiced sharing, teamwork and imagination while utilizing the kinetic sand and molds. I have them use trays while playing and they have done well with taking turns and sharing the bags of sand. They have created farms and pretend restaurants with their imaginative play. With new supplies, they have had lots of fun which has brought a calm focus to our class.\r\n\r\nWhile lots of children are using the kinetic sand the other half have been engrossed in making bracelets for each other. It has been sweet to watch them thinking of what their friends like, to make a bracelet or necklace for each other. With the letter beads, the children have made gifts for others saying things like, \"best friend\" or \"I love you mom\"!\r\n\r\nWe really appreciate the thoughtfulness of your donation, God bless.","fullyFundedDate":1767475211769,"projectUrl":"project/after-school-fun-in-tucson/9978767/","projectTitle":"After School Fun in Tucson!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vicky","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9997388_orig.jpg?crop=1451,1451,x360,y514&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752694918406","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9997388"},{"teacherId":10049552,"projectId":9394715,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kind and generous donations for our Prismacolor colored pencils and accessory kits! The Presidio high school students got to be the first ones to try them out and create meaningful portraits of people who have made a positive impact on their lives. These ranged from different family members, to music, acting, and fashion icons.\r\n\r\nStudents expressed that this project has taught them that \"it's okay to try new and different things, and it's okay to attempt new methods...this project helped me explore myself more in depth and I had the most fun showing off what I like considering fashion and people I idolize. It definitely helped me get a sense of better drawing skills, and going deeper into shading, volume, and just attempting to draw real human features\". \r\n\r\nAnother student states, \"Creating this piece has changed me not only as an artist, but as a person. I used to struggle with being vulnerable, especially in my artwork or anything that I shared about myself. Even writing this statement is a big step for me. But working on this portrait pushed me to be more open...\".\r\n\r\nEven though drawing realism was a challenge for most students, they embraced that they were still able to advance in their artistic journey, expressing that \"...you can really achieve almost anything with the right materials and that you have a certain, new kind of motivation when you're drawing something you like or someone special to you.\".\r\n\r\nThe Presidio School art students and I are thankful for this opportunity you have given us, to bond, share, and grow together. Your donation provided many students who are required to attend an after school tutoring program with a snack. Almost every student who attends the after school tutoring program comes from a family that falls into the Title One population, so these student's families can't afford to provide snacks for their children. The students receive free breakfast and lunch at school. The snacks of Goldfish, cheese and animal crackers, Teddy Grahams, Oreos and Chips Ahoy cookies, and fruit snacks gave students the boost they needed to focus and complete their work each day.
