Their eyes lit up, and many immediately asked if they could try them out. For students who sometimes struggle to stay focused, having these options made them feel both empowered and supported. They were amazed that our classroom now had furniture and tools designed just for them and their needs.\r\n\r\nWe've already started putting these resources to use during classwork and independent study. One student who often has trouble sitting for long periods now uses the walking pad while reading, which has helped them stay calm and engaged. Another student loves using the balance ball chair during math, and it's given them a healthy way to release energy while still being part of the group. The bike desk and stepper have quickly become favorites, and students are even encouraging each other to take turns so everyone can benefit.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students are learning how to choose the movement option that best helps them focus during lessons and projects. We're practicing building self-awareness—when they notice their attention drifting, they can decide whether walking, stepping, biking, or sitting on the ball chair helps them refocus. Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has become a place where students feel comfortable, regulated, and ready to learn. Your support has truly made a lasting difference in their day-to-day learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1751647164782,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-focus/9239159/","projectTitle":"Flexible Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pearson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4997436_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1511625718310","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4997436"},{"teacherId":8768938,"projectId":9073324,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding my project and supporting my vision of combining history and art. Your generosity in providing printmaking supplies gave my students the opportunity to learn a new form of art and the process of printmaking. For our \"practice\" project I had them select a Loteria image, trace it onto SoftCarve and use the Speedball carving tools to carve and create their print blocks. Once they were all carved, we learned the process of rolling the ink with the brayer, applying an even coating of ink onto the block, and then pressing the printmaking paper onto the block. Through this process, students also learned that different pressure applied when carving the block can leave what printmakers call \"chatter\"--the edges of the carve that pick up ink too. \r\n\r\nThe next step for this project and the supplies is to design a year-long curriculum to integrate art and the Mexican Revolution. It is on the master schedule that I will be teaching it next year so I am very excited to have supplies ready to go. Thank you again for your generosity and seeing my vision of arts and social studies collaboration.","fullyFundedDate":1739303942459,"projectUrl":"project/from-posada/9073324/","projectTitle":"From Posada","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hammer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8768938_orig.jpg?crop=568,568,x0,y11&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737479998062","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8768938"},{"teacherId":8734241,"projectId":9122285,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity in bringing needle felting to my rural art students!
