Even something as simple as whiteboard cleaner made them excited! They were especially happy about the bean bags! It gives them a break from the hard chairs. They eagerly await their week to use them. \r\n\r\nSince our school is short on janitors, they do not clean our whiteboards. My students apply for classroom jobs, and one of the jobs is whiteboard cleaner. At the end of the day, the student erases the boards with our fabulous new erasers that actually work, and don't just smear the marker around. Then they use the cleaner once a week with the new rags to ensure our boards are nice, white, and ready for the next week. Each student also received a mini whiteboard eraser for their desks. They are estatic that they don't have to use old socks anymore. \r\n\r\nAnother favorite item my students received is the bulk container of mints. My students get to eat a mint before taking a test since mint awakens the brain. They might have been equally as excited about the mini push pins. They use these to track the places we've talked about in social studies on a map. \r\n\r\nMy students use the pencils when they work one-on-one with me, and now I have correction tape for those mistakes I make with ink. The labels are used to organize our classroom library. I print a color coded alphabet on them, and the classroom librarian uses them to keep our classroom library organized. \r\n\r\nThe laminating sheets, magnetic hooks, computer speakers, Vis-A-Vis markers, and erasers have all come in extremely handy as well. It saved me from spending my own money on these items my classroom desperately needed.","fullyFundedDate":1725601267615,"projectUrl":"project/functional-fifth-grade/8695228/","projectTitle":"Functional Fifth Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fink","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9701925"},{"teacherId":9775047,"projectId":8815735,"letterContent":"The resources provided to my classroom have been a true blessing. The first project that I shared with the students was the papyrus papers in my world history class. The students were so excited when they each got their own LARGE sheet of papyrus to write on. Not only could they write on it, but it was also large enough that they could cut it and create smaller sheets. To write on this papyrus, I also ordered a set of thin Sharpies. The students were THRILLED to be able to use the brand new colored markers on this project. Sometimes even little things bring great enjoyment.\r\n\r\nWith each project I started with the materials that I received, the students were so excited and thankful. They couldn't believed that I received this \"gift\" and that it was for them. All of the materials that I received have been for hands-on-activities, and the students love to do something different and engaging. My students watch when I go for the box containing the buzzers. I have already seen an improvement in confidence in many of my students. The question boxes and the book of trivia questions are absolutely perfect for my grade levels. Thank you for these wonderful gifts!","fullyFundedDate":1727140814375,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-history-bringing-the-book-ali/8815735/","projectTitle":"Hands-On History: Bringing the Book Alive","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Heppner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9775047"},{"teacherId":9703580,"projectId":8697618,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generosity in funding the SEL workbooks for my 6th-grade guidance class. Your support has made a meaningful impact on my students' learning and personal growth, both in and outside the classroom. \r\n\r\nSince incorporating the workbooks into our lessons, I've seen remarkable progress in how my students approach challenging social and emotional topics. The activities have helped them build confidence, strengthen empathy, and develop essential coping and communication skills. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch them engage thoughtfully, reflect on their actions, and practice kindness toward one another. The structure of the workbooks have been especially helpful to keep students on track and engaged. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly enriched our classroom environment and created opportunities for personal development that will extend far beyond the school walls.
