The treadmill desk is already making a meaningful difference for my students who struggle with ADHD and staying focused during lessons.\r\n\r\nFor many of these students, sitting still for long periods can be overwhelming and distracting. Having the option to walk at a slow pace while working at the standing desk has given them a safe and constructive outlet for their energy. I've noticed that students using the treadmill are able to sustain attention for longer stretches of time, participate more actively in discussions, and complete assignments with greater confidence.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, the treadmill has also had a positive impact on student well-being. Students feel empowered by having a choice in how they learn, and they appreciate that their unique needs are recognized and supported. It has also fostered a sense of curiosity and excitement in the classroom—other students often ask questions about how it works and cheer on their peers who are using it responsibly.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given my students a tool that not only supports focus but also nurtures self-regulation and confidence. I teach high school self-contained special education students. The most effective way of teaching them is hands-on and/or full color printed out materials. Full color printed materials are much more appealing to the eye and makes materials more realistic.\r\n\r\nThe students were very excited to have letter size color print outs of the map of New Jersey as well as a full sized poster print outs of the state, county and city to utilize during our Unit on Maps.
