This lesson was more than simply drawing a fish—it became an opportunity for students to connect reading comprehension with creative expression while also practicing important social skills such as sharing, cooperation, and kindness.\r\n\r\nAfter reading and discussing the story's message about generosity and friendship, students brought those ideas to life through art. Using the supplies you provided, they followed step-by-step guidance to create their own colorful fish. For many, this was their first time working with brand-new materials, which made the experience even more meaningful.\r\n\r\nYour generosity made this lesson possible, supporting both academic growth and creativity. We now have so many books that children love. When the books arrived in the first week of school it felt like Christmas in the classroom. The children were thrilled to have brand new graphic novels to read in their own classroom. We all felt worthy, valued and very special to receive so many exciting and enticing new books to read. \r\nMy students are now begging for more and more reading time every day. So many of them are reluctant and struggling readers. Last year they did not like the class books very much, so having books they really like has made a huge difference in their enthusiasm for reading. And for many unable to read the words yet, they can follow the story and comprehend what is happening with the support of many pictures in books like graphic novels. \r\nThank you for supporting literacy in my classroom and helping to foster a life long love of reading. The students in my class were able to have new supplies the first day of school. This made them feel worthy and special, as all children should feel. Many of my students cannot afford new supplies each year, and with budget cuts, the school can no longer provide new supplies either. Because of your contribution, my students will have supplies for the entire year. And they are so excited to learn!\r\nMy students were overjoyed to get fresh new supplies the first day of school From brand new pencils to glue sticks to crayons, markers and notebooks, we now have everything we will need this year. Writing notebooks will get used every day with fresh new pencils. And everyone wants to draw in their cute new doodle books. \r\nHaving a complete supplies of needed materials like this for the year enables me to focus on creative ways students can access curriculum and learn in various needed ways. I can even have students add artistic representations to their work, something which has been shown to increase and deepen understanding. \r\nThank you again for your support of my students having supplies for the school year.
