When I told my students that someone donated these materials to our class, their faces lit up. The clay proved to be an important aspect of their creations. Each student was able to have enough clay and so we didn't have to worry about running low on this material.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, the sharpener that was also delivered was much needed due to previous ones breaking down and other ones just being too old to function. The students were able to have sharpened pencils for their templates and reflections. We still use the item for pencils including coloring pencils to this day, and the students appreciate how fast and efficiently it works.\r\n\r\nThe first group of students who did the dragon eye sculptures are now in a different class for the second half of the school year. So, now I have a whole new group who will have the opportunity to take part in this project. The initial group managed to create some interesting and intricate sculptures that show form, shape, line, texture, color, and even value, demonstrating their mindfulness of the elements of art while satisfying state art standards.\r\n\r\nFor many of these students of last semester, it was their first time using such a medium. The project gave the students a chance to step out of their usual mediums and utilize a material that encouraged them to think differently on how art can be created and what art can be. I expect the same great things from this new group, and more! We couldn't have done it without you and this amazing platform!
