This was the first year that I wanted to make a change. After I painted the room, it seemed to need just a touch more. I started browsing on Amazon for items that would make my ideas come to life in my room. As I was shopping for my ideas, I also noticed the prices of them. I knew that I could not accomplish them on my own quickly enough to update the room. My friend and co-worker, Ms. Star, told me about this site. She praised it for all its help with teachers being able to reach other people for help. I decided to give it a try. It was a wonderful decision. I was able to receive help for my classroom that I never dreamed possible. So, I would like to say thank you so much to all of the donors who helped me. My room is beautiful, the kids are happy when they walk in, and the environment is very inviting. I have been richly blessed through you all. Thank you so very much!","fullyFundedDate":1758887447205,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-makeover/9390269/","projectTitle":"Classroom Makeover","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Laborde","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10048159_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748827259005","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10048159"},{"teacherId":2985166,"projectId":9420776,"letterContent":"I wanted to reach out and say a huge thank you for the amazing eight-foot conference tables you purchased for our English classroom. Honestly, I can't tell you how much of a difference they've made in our space. From the day they arrived, these tables have completely changed the way our classroom feels and functions. What you've given us goes so far beyond just furniture—you've given my students a space where they can truly collaborate, connect, and dig into their learning in ways that just weren't possible before. I really wanted to take a moment to share with you what's been happening in our classroom since your generous gift arrived.\r\nThese tables have been absolute game-changers for how my students work together and engage with literature. Instead of being stuck at individual desks, students now gather around these big, spacious tables where they can actually spread out and work as teams. When we're diving into a novel discussion or analyzing poetry, there's this wonderful energy that happens when students sit together around these tables—they're talking, debating, sharing ideas, and really building off each other's thinking. The tables are the perfect size for groups of four to six students, and there's finally enough room for everyone to have their books, notebooks, laptops, and everything else they need without playing Tetris with their materials. This might sound simple, but having that physical space has made such a difference in how comfortable students feel sharing their thoughts and taking intellectual risks. I've watched students who used to be really quiet suddenly jump into discussions because the setup feels more like a conversation around a kitchen table than a formal classroom. The peer editing sessions for essays have gotten so much better too—students can lay their drafts out next to each other, compare what they're working on, and give each other real, meaningful feedback. Your donation has literally brought my students closer together, and the sense of community in our room has grown so much because of it.\r\nThe best part? My students absolutely love these tables. I hear comments all the time about how much easier it is to work on group projects, how the classroom feels more grown-up and professional now, and how great it is to actually have room to get organized during complicated assignments. During our literature circles and class discussions, the tables create this perfect environment where students naturally look at each other and have real conversations about what they're reading. One of my students told me that coming to class is more exciting now because they have \"an actual good place to work,\" and another said our room feels less like a boring classroom and more like \"a place where we actually do important stuff.\" Those comments really stuck with me because they show that what you've given us isn't just about comfort—it's about creating a space where students feel like their learning matters and where they're set up for success. From all of us—me and every single one of my students, now and in the years to come—thank you so much for believing in our classroom and investing in these kids' education. Your generosity has made a real, lasting impact, and we're all incredibly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1758887444657,"projectUrl":"project/table-it-part-1/9420776/","projectTitle":"Table It Part 1","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Star","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2985166_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753061634599","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/starhiggy"},{"teacherId":4635958,"projectId":9759777,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for making such a positive impact on my student's learning through gaming! \r\n\r\nStudents are eager to play the new games as they've gotten used to the older ones and could see the premiums games offered that we did not have access to.\r\n\r\nAfter playing some of the new games with our new upgraded plan thanks to you, students even identified the games that had \"too much game and not enough learning\" for them to prepare for the test which I thought was awesome for a high school student to identify!","fullyFundedDate":1760405072149,"projectUrl":"project/blooket-wed-love-an-upgrade-plus-subsc/9759777/","projectTitle":"Blooket: We'd Love an Upgrade Plus Subscription!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fontenot","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4635958_orig.jpg?crop=573,573,x609,y281&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721077852402","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4635958"},{"teacherId":2985166,"projectId":9392573,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of a complete class set of No Fear Shakespeare: Macbeth editions. Your thoughtful contribution will have a transformative impact on my students' learning experience.\r\nShakespeare's Elizabethan English creates significant barriers for many students, particularly struggling readers and English language learners. These obstacles often prevent students from accessing the rich themes and compelling characters of his plays. Your donation of No Fear Shakespeare editions addresses this challenge directly.\r\nThe side-by-side format of these books is truly transformative. Students encounter Shakespeare's original text alongside clear, accessible modern translations that help them understand exactly what is happening in each scene. This dual presentation allows students to appreciate Shakespeare's language while ensuring they never lose track of plot, character motivations, or themes. Rather than replacing Shakespeare's words, these translations serve as a bridge, helping students develop confidence to eventually engage more independently with the original text.\r\nIn my classroom, we read Macbeth aloud with students taking on character roles throughout the play. This interactive approach brings the drama to life, but reading aloud can be particularly intimidating for struggling readers who worry about pronunciation and comprehension. The No Fear Shakespeare editions will provide these students with the confidence they need to participate fully in our classroom performances.\r\nWith these copies, students can quickly reference the modern translation to understand their character's motivations and relationships before reading aloud. This preparation builds confidence and improves dramatic interpretation. When students understand what they're saying, they can focus on expression and delivery rather than simply struggling to decode unfamiliar words. This deeper engagement leads to more meaningful discussions about the play's themes.\r\nHaving a complete class set eliminates the barrier of shared materials. Each student will have their own copy to annotate and take home for further study. This personal ownership encourages deeper engagement and allows students to reinforce their understanding outside class time.\r\nYour donation's impact extends beyond this single unit. Students who gain confidence through their positive Macbeth experience will be better prepared to tackle other challenging literary works. By removing the intimidation factor surrounding Shakespeare, these books help students develop genuine appreciation for classic literature and universal themes that continue to resonate today.\r\nYour generosity directly supports educational equity by ensuring all students, regardless of reading level, have access to materials that meet them where they are academically. This represents an investment in their immediate learning and long-term academic success.\r\nThank you for your thoughtful support of my students and their education.
