Students get to read a magazine weekly either with a physical magazine to practice reading or following along on the digital copy on our smart board. Students are able to learn about current events with real photographs of people and animals. When reading we practice pointing to the color box so students know where I am reading as they look at the picture. This helps students read left to right and that words associate with specific pictures. Students are excited to share their magazines with their families.\r\n\r\nThe videos that conncect what is read to the topic is engaging to all students. Students look forward to the movement videos. The worksheets that are available are geared to our Transitional Kindergarten students and address many of our learing foundations. The suggested hands-on activities are fun and help extend beyond paper learning. Having Scholastic Magazine for my four year olds is helping them gain a love for reading and learning.","fullyFundedDate":1754329488614,"projectUrl":"project/tiny-growing-readers/9494580/","projectTitle":"Tiny Growing Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Folger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7024661_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1652070185370","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7024661"},{"teacherId":2605964,"projectId":9472563,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding supplies for our First Grade classroom. We also use the markers to highlight our sentences on the chart and color in our rocket rubric to determine if we have included all of the necessary parts in our writing.
