Project Pink has successfully provided feminine hygiene products for the female students in our school. This project has helped our girls attend school during their periods.Our students have been incredibly grateful for all of the supplies. \r\n\r\nBefore this project was funded, some of the girls in our school could not afford pads and tampons, so they would stay home when they got their periods to avoid any embarrassing accidents. After this project was funded, our girls have been much happier and less stressed about coming to school during their cycles. This has greatly decreased the number of absences among our female students. Attendance issues are the number one reason students fall behind. Students who are feeling anxious will grab one out of the box at the beginning of class (or whenever they need one). I have specifically noticed a difference during our vocabulary quizzes, as the nervous tapping of certain students no longer interrupts other students. As a result, ALL of my students are benefiting from these tools, even those who don't use them directly.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the cushions and bean bag chair have made our classroom more comfortable and inviting for the students. They have also become the student-preferred location for hard conversations.
