The new technology has transformed the way my students engage with lessons every day. Many of them are growing up surrounded by devices at home, but in class they're now learning how to use technology as creators, problem-solvers, and collaborators—not just consumers. Whether they're researching topics, practicing math fluency, or recording reflections, this tool helps them learn in ways that are hands-on, interactive, and deeply engaging.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students the most is how this technology brings learning to life. They love that they can move through lessons at their own pace, explore visuals, and receive instant feedback. It's also helped build confidence—students who once hesitated to participate now raise their hands eagerly when they can use the new tool to share their ideas.","fullyFundedDate":1754426013416,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-tomorrows-leaders/9425742/","projectTitle":"Tools for Tomorrow’s Leaders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Aquiles","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8684750_orig.jpg?crop=1935,1935,x1382,y1002&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1709095394978","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8684750"},{"teacherId":10053808,"projectId":9407115,"letterContent":"When my students first walked into the classroom and saw the new reading corner, their faces lit up with excitement. Several of them ran straight to the corner, got comfortable on the rug, and immediately began exploring books. They were especially drawn to the cozy setup, the calming beach backdrop, and the plant light that created a soothing, natural environment. Many of my students have sensory needs, so having a safe and welcoming space that feels both calming and structured has been incredibly meaningful. One student even commented that \"it feels like a vacation spot,\" which shows just how much the environment helps them feel comfortable and eager to read.\r\n\r\nWe've also been using the light stand and Alexa system as a clear and engaging way to signal time limits. Students quickly learned that the change in light color means it's time to rotate or rejoin the group, and it has given them more independence in managing their own time. The rug has become a favorite spot for small reading groups and quiet breaks, allowing students to self-regulate and rejoin learning activities more smoothly. Recently, during a group reading project, students took turns reading aloud while others followed along, and the reading corner made the activity feel special and safe.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next step is to use the reading corner as a space for guided reading lessons and independent projects where students practice comprehension strategies. The calm and inviting setup encourages them to stay engaged for longer periods of time, and I am already seeing increased focus during literacy lessons. Your generosity has created not just a space, but an experience that supports both academic growth and emotional well-being for every student in my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1750114000110,"projectUrl":"project/relax-rise-empowering-special-learner/9407115/","projectTitle":"Relax & Rise: Empowering Special Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Larson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10053808_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749605382380","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-larson-edspecialist"},{"teacherId":9113450,"projectId":8875544,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for bringing the biggest smiles and cheers into my students faces when they walked in to the classroom and saw a whole new library! They were so excited to see the new seating area with the soft blue cushions. They quickly grabbed a bunch of books they wanted to read and sat on the cushions. Within minutes, they were all silently reading and sharing pictures. \r\n\r\nAfter they read a book a few times, each student took a quiz. They have improved overall in reaching their reading goal. One student is at 80% of his reading goal! \r\n\r\nIm so proud of my students for their daily effort to learn new material. The best part of watching these students grow is how eager they are to ask questions, request help and support each other. My next project will consist of adding new books to increasing their reading levels. I hope my students can be reading as close as possible to their 4th grade level. I would like to get more books added to our library. In addition, I would like to make our library corner more comfortable and cozy with a warm dim lamp and small table. \r\n\r\nI truly appreciate the generosity of the donors, thank you for helping me give my students a little classroom library!","fullyFundedDate":1733274500066,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-library/8875544/","projectTitle":"Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jimenez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9113450"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_29025","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":446,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":33,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":55,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"3 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"24.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":88.0,"schoolId":29025,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Aviation Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Aviation Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/wiseburn-unified-school-district/peter-burnett-elementary-school/29025"}
