Rather than learning concepts only through lectures or textbooks, students can use LEGOs to build, test, and revise their ideas, which supports deeper understanding. This approach is especially effective in subjects like math, science, and engineering, where abstract concepts such as measurement, fractions, forces, and structures become more concrete when students can physically manipulate materials.\r\nIn addition to academic benefits, LEGOs encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills. Many classroom LEGO activities are designed for group work, requiring students to plan together, divide tasks, and explain their thinking. This helps students develop teamwork skills and learn how to persevere through challenges when a design does not work as expected. The trial-and-error process fosters a growth mindset, showing students that mistakes are a natural and valuable part of learning.\r\nLEGOs also support creativity and differentiation in the classroom. Because there is no single \"right\" way to build, students can approach tasks at varying levels of complexity based on their abilities and interests. This flexibility allows teachers to adapt lessons for diverse learners, including those who benefit from kinesthetic learning. Overall, the use of LEGOs in the classroom creates an engaging, inclusive learning environment that supports both academic growth and essential life skills.\r\n\r\nI am so thankful for your support in enriching these students lives.","fullyFundedDate":1763485052577,"projectUrl":"project/lego-connected/9901316/","projectTitle":"LEGO = Connected","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lappin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5565254_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565786711702","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/lappin"},{"teacherId":8507803,"projectId":9045334,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! \r\nMy students have really enjoyed building new race tracks for their magnatile cars, building houses for their penguins, lions, and birds, and constructing a playground made out of candy!
