The main goal of this project was to help children plant seeds and learn how plants grow, while also giving them time to express themselves through art and decoration.\r\n\r\nAt the start of the project, the children planted a variety of seeds, including vegetables, herbs, and flowers. This was exciting because everyone could choose something different to grow. From the beginning, the activity was more than just planting—it was a way for students to observe change over time. They saw how seeds needed water and light, and they began to understand that growth does not happen all at once. Instead, it happens gradually, and patience matters.\r\n\r\nTo make the planters more personal and engaging, the children decorated their planters using stickers to create facial features. This turned each planter into something unique, like a friendly character. The children were proud of their designs, and the playful faces helped them stay interested in checking their plants. As the plants began to sprout, the children could connect what they saw growing with the effort they put into their artwork.\r\n\r\nIn addition to decorating the planters, the children also decorated bags that helped them organize and care for their materials. They used non-toxic fabric paint to add their own designs, which made the bags colorful and meaningful. The fabric paint was important because it allowed students to create safely while still using art tools that could stand up to classroom use. The children also used Bingo Daubers to add dots and patterns, which made their designs fun and easy to complete. This combination of painting and daubers gave children multiple ways to be creative.\r\n\r\nOverall, this project supported both learning and creativity. By planting seeds, children practiced observation and learned about plant life cycles. By decorating their planters and bags, they built confidence and expressed themselves through art. The materials and resources from this project will be used by low income preschool students in our multi age (3-5 years old) classroom. Each day we offer these prizes and incentives for our behavior modification system. When students follow our classroom rules (Listening ears, quiet mouth, helping hands, walking feet and big voice), they receive a star on their Star Chart. Each student must earn a star per day to pick a prize on Friday.\r\nAlso, students earn a spot on our coveted \"Classroom Star Wall\" and get to participate in our \"Fun Friday\" activities. (using play dough, completing a special art activity, playing bingo games, etc.)\r\nOur next steps include completing a new Donor Choose project for more special materials to use in our classroom to start the new school year off strong. Thanks again for supporting strong minds and promoting positive preschool classroom behavior.
