They immediately gravitated toward the child-safe cardboard cutters, eager to test out tools that allow them to build independently and confidently during our STEM Build Days. One group proudly announced, \"We can actually cut this ourselves now!\"—a huge step for creative ownership and less waiting on Mrs. Erickson. In our first project, students designed simple machines out of recycled materials, and the combination of safe cutting tools and vibrant markers helped their ideas come to life in ways we hadn't seen before.\r\n\r\nThe notebooks and stickers have already transformed the way students stay organized for Reading Olympics and Fermi Math. Students took great care decorating their notebooks with the new stickers, creating personal learning journals they're excited to use. These small materials have boosted their confidence and created a culture of responsibility and pride in their work.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, we are stepping into the 2025–2026 school year with momentum. Our next steps include beginning our first Reading Olympics book study and expanding our STEM Build Days with more complex engineering challenges. Your support didn't just provide materials—it sparked motivation, independence, and creativity across four Title I schools. My students and I are deeply grateful for the impact you've made already, and we can't wait to continue sharing their growth and innovation thanks to your kindness.","fullyFundedDate":1756690209332,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-refresh-for-2025-2026/9301253/","projectTitle":"Classroom Refresh for 2025-2026","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Erickson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7829094"},{"teacherId":7829094,"projectId":8497719,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our flexible seating project! Your kindness and belief in our classroom have made such a positive difference. The new seating options have completely transformed our learning environment, creating a cozy and welcoming space that my students absolutely love. From comfy chairs to soft cushions, the flexible seating makes it easy for everyone to find a comfortable spot to curl up with a good book or dive into a new lesson.\r\n\r\nSince adding flexible seating, I've noticed my students are more focused, engaged, and eager to learn. They take ownership of their learning spaces and are excited to choose where they sit each day. Reading time has become one of their favorite parts of the day, as they settle into their comfy seats and get lost in their books. The warm and inviting atmosphere has not only fostered a love of reading but also built a stronger classroom community where everyone feels at ease.\r\n\r\nYour support means the world to us. It's inspiring to know that there are people like you who care deeply about the success and happiness of students. On behalf of myself and my class, thank you for helping to make our classroom a cozy, inspiring place where we can learn and grow every day.","fullyFundedDate":1727882788759,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-flexible-thinking/8497719/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating = Flexible Thinking","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Erickson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7829094"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79088","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":341,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":27,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":61,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.6,"schoolId":79088,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pawnee Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pawnee Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nebraska/omaha-public-schools/pawnee-elementary-school/79088"}
