Your generosity impacts students' lives in major ways. Because of you, students are able to become skilled, empowered artists who can share their lives and stories through visual art.\r\n\r\nFor example, with the canvas, gesso and acrylic paint that you supplied, students learned how to prepare a canvas, practice color theory and make stunning still life paintings. These paintings depicted prized possessions, as students reflected on meaningful things in their lives and practiced painting techniques. Recently, an AP Studio Art student utilized a set of oil pastels you purchased to depict the stressors that women face in society. With the Prismacolor pencils Advanced Art students had access to quality tools to learn and practice portraiture. Currently, students are working on a project where they explore the diverse cultures that they are a part of using the crafting supplies to alter a photo of themselves adding indicators of culture and identity. In \"Art for Social Justice\" many of the supplies will be used to create interactive artworks that will communicate, empower, educate and inspire the community around social justice issues at our upcoming art show. \r\n\r\nI cannot thank you enough and am excited to share the huge positive impact that you have made in the life of students. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. With such limited resources and students facing great challenges and trauma, we literally could not do this work without people like you that are willing to help. Many of my students go on to pursue careers in art and design because they have the necessary tools and training, thanks to you.","fullyFundedDate":1767580341338,"projectUrl":"project/crafty-hands-need-to-create/9677685/","projectTitle":"Crafty Hands Need to Create","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1545372_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1506110646107","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-stoos"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_103549","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":272,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":81,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":21,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":71,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":48.9,"schoolId":103549,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Paul Cuffee Charter High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Paul Cuffee Charter High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/rhode-island/rhode-island-department-of-education/paul-cuffee-charter-high-school/103549"}
