Thank you so much for your generous donations! Each of my students now has access to their own Riding Freedom book to use in class. We are will be reading it together next week during our read aloud time. I look forward to sharing in the imaginative storytelling with them as well as using it as a resource to explore critical English Language Arts concepts such as main idea, supporting details, narrative writing components, and sensory language. \r\n\r\nReading takes place throughout the day as an Early Finisher option in my class, but this book will be offered as a whole class read aloud after lunch where we will work to build fluency and a deeper understanding of story structure as we read together. This story explores a remarkable tale about a young girl from the 1800s who overcomes not only physical adversity, but social and economic difficulties of the time as well. My students will learn about the power of determination, hard work, and perseverance. Thank you for giving to our project and sharing in this message and learning experience with us!
