Your thoughtful support has provided our students with high-quality, developmentally appropriate books that will be enjoyed daily in our classrooms. These materials will make a meaningful difference by ensuring our youngest learners have access to engaging books designed especially for their early learning needs.\r\nLiteracy skills begin developing at a very young age, and board books play an essential role in this process. As young children look at, touch, and explore board books, they build foundational skills such as vocabulary development, print awareness, visual attention, and early comprehension. For children with special needs, the durability, simple text, and rich illustrations of board books support repeated interaction, language growth, and a positive relationship with reading. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to early literacy and for helping our children build a strong foundation for future learning.","fullyFundedDate":1759443254379,"projectUrl":"project/lets-read-together/9775793/","projectTitle":"Let's Read Together!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Terri","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9470201"},{"teacherId":6754814,"projectId":9728496,"letterContent":"The items that were purchased through the grant have greatly enhanced our Fully Self Contained classroom. The weighted vest has helped a student with anxiety and lessened their shoulder tics. The art items have allowed a student with high disabilities to learn skills like following directions, and colors in a fun way. The board games that were purchased allow our small group of students to practice social skills, following directions and other skills that are necessary to function outside of the school setting. Working on these skills also helps them to be integrated with students outside of the Full Self Contained classroom. \r\n\r\nWe have yet to use all the items purchased but will plan to do so on the coming months. I also finally had the chance to set up our new bulletin board, which gave the classroom a fresh, aesthetic look. Now students have a special space to display work they're proud of, and they're so excited to see their projects showcased! We've also been putting our new supplies to great use—especially the pencil sharpeners, Expo pens, and all the other materials our classroom desperately needed. One specific project we just wrapped up was our PBL on biomimicry. The kids were so stoked to hang up their work and share what they created with the whole class. It's been an awesome upgrade to both our environment and our learning!\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw all the materials, they were super grateful and excited that we get to have all those things. Their faces lit up immediately. \r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our classroom is not only more functional but also more inspiring for our students. Now that we've wrapped up our biomimicry PBL project, our next step is to dive deeper into how living things adapt to their environments. Students will be exploring real-world animal and plant adaptations and working in teams to design their own \"creature\" that could survive in a specific habitat. They'll apply what they've learned in science, use our new supplies to bring their ideas to life, and then present their creations to the class. We're excited to keep the momentum going with more hands-on, creative learning!","fullyFundedDate":1741740317203,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials/9154695/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Lucas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9368689_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x672,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1703645852235","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9368689"},{"teacherId":9180053,"projectId":8219021,"letterContent":"On behalf of the students and myself, I wanted to extend our heartfelt mahalo for your generous donation of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for our sixth-grade language arts program. The iPads have had an immediate impact in our classroom, providing seamless streaming on our Apple TV and allowing students to view educational videos without any lagging. This has created a much more engaging learning experience as students can follow along with lessons in real time. The iPads also allow me to write on digital documents effortlessly, saving precious transition time and allowing us to stay focused on the material.\r\n\r\nThe automatic sharpeners have been another fantastic addition to our classroom. They allow students to quickly sharpen their pencils without any disruption, which has minimized distractions and talking time. This small yet impactful improvement helps students stay on task longer and fosters a more productive classroom environment. Many of our students have particularly warmed to the iPads, especially those who learn best through interactive technology. It has become a valuable tool for them, enabling more personalized learning experiences and increasing their engagement in lessons.\r\n\r\nWe truly appreciate your support in helping provide these valuable resources to our students. The positive changes in our classroom are already noticeable, and we're excited to continue watching our students thrive thanks to your generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1729131943744,"projectUrl":"project/technology-in-the-house/8879180/","projectTitle":"Technology in the House!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9400760"},{"teacherId":9400760,"projectId":8647553,"letterContent":"The new products have had a fantastic impact on my students, and several have especially warmed to the new technology and materials. The Epson EcoTank ET-2800 printer has been especially exciting because it allows us to print high-quality assignments and projects directly from our classroom, enhancing the hands-on learning experience. Students who thrive in creative and visual learning have particularly embraced the opportunity to print their work and see their projects come to life. The Giantex Rolling Storage Cart and the colorful storage baskets have also been a hit, as they help keep the classroom organized and students more focused on their tasks. Many students have warmed to the idea of using the YFSFQS headphones in class, as they provide a quieter, more immersive environment when working on digital tasks, allowing students to concentrate better during independent learning activities. Additionally, the educational games like Hasbro's Classic Jenga and Connect 4 have become favorites during breaks, providing a fun and engaging way for students to build teamwork and problem-solving skills.
