Thanks to your support, both I and my 3rd and 4th-grade students have experienced an incredible transformation in our learning environment. I'm excited to share with you the positive impact these resources have had on our daily activities. \r\n\r\nSince receiving the seating options, my students have embraced the freedom to create their ideal learning spaces. With choices like bean bags, wobble stools, and standing desks, they can select seating arrangements that best meet their needs. For example, during independent reading sessions, some students curl up on bean bags, while others opt for wobble stools for better focus. During group projects, such as a recent study on ecosystems, students chose seating that allowed them to collaborate effectively—whether brainstorming at whiteboards or sitting in small, comfortable clusters. This newfound flexibility has sparked greater engagement, teamwork, and enthusiasm for learning. \r\n\r\nThe arrival of the new seating options brought absolute joy to our classroom! The students were thrilled to explore the possibilities, and their excitement was evident in the beaming smiles on their faces. The ability to choose seating based on their preferences and feelings each day has empowered them, boosting their independence and confidence in their learning process. As a result, I've observed improvements in both their focus and energy levels, fostering a lively and positive classroom atmosphere. \r\nMoving forward, the flexible seating will remain a cornerstone of our learning activities. As we continue with our ecosystem project, students will engage in hands-on experiments and presentations, benefiting from the adaptable seating arrangements. Some will conduct research using standing desks, while others will work collaboratively around low tables to plan their presentations. The flexible seating has already revolutionized the way my students approach learning, and I'm excited to see how it continues to enhance their growth and teamwork. \r\nOnce again, thank you for your kindness and generosity. Your donation has truly enriched our classroom experience, and I look forward to witnessing the lasting positive effects on my students' learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1734534700586,"projectUrl":"project/choose-your-seat/8666601/","projectTitle":"Choose Your Seat","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wolcott","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9566962_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723785260101","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9566962"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_57319","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":37,"numTeachers":7,"percentFrplEligible":52,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":100,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"5.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":23.9,"schoolId":57319,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Damar Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Damar Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/palco-unified-school-district-269/palco-elementary-school/57319"}
