We would like to add squash, root vegetables, anf more herbs to this list.\r\n\r\nWe are set up to grow strawberries and hope to be able to add fruits to our harvest. The deep freezer has allowed us to store all of our items in one central space, which has made prep and planning much easier. The toaster oven has also been a huge help it allows us to bake more batches of pretzels in a shorter amount of time, giving students more opportunities to participate in cooking while keeping the process smooth and safe. Through this hands-on experience, students have been practicing how to prep pretzels, safely place them in the oven, and remove them using proper tools and techniques.\r\n\r\nWhen the items first arrived, my students were visibly surprised and excited. Using their AAC devices, they expressed that they felt happy to receive these materials for our classroom. It was heartwarming to see their excitement turn into focused, purposeful work as they helped prepare snacks for our school community. Looking ahead, we plan to host more pretzel pop-up shops throughout the school year. Our first one was a huge success we sold over 100 pretzels to staff and students building-wide, and it gave my students a true sense of accomplishment and pride.","fullyFundedDate":1744306001130,"projectUrl":"project/pretzels-for-a-purpose-spreading-kindne/9252029/","projectTitle":"Pretzels for a Purpose! Students from other classes come and join the cooking lessons and social clubs. Their contributions provided essential learning materials, including magnetic money puzzles and math centers, which have greatly enhanced hands-on, interactive learning.\r\n\r\nThese tools have been instrumental in helping students grasp real-world money skills, an essential part of their functional math education. The magnetic money puzzles allow them to physically manipulate coins and bills, reinforcing concepts of counting, making change, and recognizing currency. The math centers provide structured, engaging activities that support differentiated learning, catering to the unique needs of each student.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, these materials foster confidence and independence in students, helping them feel successful in their learning journey. The ability to practice real-life transactions in a safe, structured environment prepares them for future vocational opportunities, reinforcing the importance of practical math skills in everyday life.\r\n\r\nThanks to the generosity of donors, these students are not just learning math—they are developing the skills they need to thrive in the real world.
