With headphones, students are able to fully focus on their reading, math practice, and digital lessons without outside distractions pulling them away. For many of them, this quiet space builds confidence and allows them to work at their own pace, knowing they can truly hear themselves think. I've seen how much more engaged they become when they are given the tools to succeed independently.\r\n\r\nThe flexible lap desks have transformed how students approach their work. They now have the freedom to choose a comfortable spot that works best for them, whether that's on the carpet, at a table, or tucked into a cozy corner of the room. This choice has made independent work feel exciting rather than overwhelming and honors the different ways my students learn best. The standing desk has also changed the energy in our classroom, allowing me to move easily, stay connected with students, and create a learning space that feels warm, active, and supportive.\r\n\r\nHaving a classroom printer has made learning feel real and tangible for my students. They love being able to hold their work, celebrate their progress, and proudly share what they've created. Together, these resources have helped create a classroom filled with comfort, encouragement, and opportunity. Because of you, my students feel seen, supported, and motivated to do their very best each day.","fullyFundedDate":1760019360387,"projectUrl":"project/a-classroom-full-of-choice-comfort-co/9569491/","projectTitle":"A Classroom Full of Choice, Comfort & Confidence!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Priester","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9584257_orig.jpg?crop=2630,2630,x0,y289&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720212782158","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9584257"},{"teacherId":9584257,"projectId":9293217,"letterContent":"There's nothing quite like the moment a child finds a book that truly speaks to them. Thanks to your generosity, my students were each able to hold their own copy of a shared text, and that simple detail made a powerful difference. Every student felt included, confident, and ready to dive into the story together. In a school where resources are limited, having a full class set meant that no one was left out, and every child had the chance to experience the joy of reading in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nThe books you helped provide reflect my students in the most authentic way. The protagonists are Latino children who enjoy things my students love—soccer, mysteries, building friendships, and navigating social situations. They see characters who look like them, sound like them, and live experiences that feel familiar. One moment that truly stayed with me was when a student who has always struggled with reading went home and asked his mother to buy the entire 13th Street series. She shared that it was the first time he had ever asked for a book. Now, they read together before bed, and he can't get enough.\r\n\r\nYour donation did more than provide books; it helped my students feel seen, valued, and inspired. There is real power in recognizing yourself in the stories you read, and every child deserves access to books they can connect with. Thank you for believing in my students and for making it possible for them to see themselves as readers. Your support means more than words can express.","fullyFundedDate":1756333354704,"projectUrl":"project/books-in-every-hand-help-us-bring-stor/9293217/","projectTitle":"Books in Every Hand - Help Us Bring Stories to Life","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Priester","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9584257_orig.jpg?crop=2630,2630,x0,y289&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720212782158","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9584257"},{"teacherId":10332716,"projectId":9859133,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom library. Because of you, my TK students now have access to English and bilingual books that are helping them grow as readers while also supporting their social-emotional development. Through these stories, students are learning about emotions, friendship, kindness, and confidence, skills that are especially important for our youngest learners.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is joyful and interactive. Students gather for read-alouds, explore pictures together, and visit our cozy library corner throughout the day. One of their favorite collections has been Little SPOT of Emotion. They love learning about feelings like happiness, anger, sadness, and confidence, and they've even learned a song about the emotions! Many students now use the words from the books to express how they are feeling, which has been amazing to see.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has created a welcoming space where students feel represented, supported, and excited about reading in both English and their home languages. My students have enjoyed our centers so much more since receiving our new materials. They were very excited when they first saw the materials arrive; they were especially excited about the pretend play materials (the different hats and the pots/pans and fake food). Learning through play is definitely their favorite thing to do, so they were extremely excited!\r\nWe have been using some of the other center materials for a few weeks now, specifically the letter recognition and letter formation materials. My group of students this year is somewhat more advanced than groups I have had in the past, so I felt they were ready to add another center, the CVC word center (where they have to figure out which CVC word matches a certain picture, and then they have to find that word as a kind of treasure hunt). I introduced that center to them today, and they did really well! It was challenging for them, but they were able to do it - and they worked together as a table group and helped each other, which was wonderful to see. \r\nOne last story: the centers playing with the fake food/pots & pans and the different \"worker\" hats were adorable. The kids playing with the fake food set up a whole store, where they bought food from each other and then brought it \"home\" to cook it using the pots and pans. I'm kind of hoping the next center group that plays with the fake food will invite the \"workers\" (the center group playing with the different hats) to buy food from them too!","fullyFundedDate":1756438888201,"projectUrl":"project/bilingual-kinders-learning-through-play/9548626/","projectTitle":"Bilingual Kinders: Learning Through Play!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Goldberg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6413171_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754533238340","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6413171"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4843","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":410,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":72,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":76,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"20.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":81.8,"schoolId":4843,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about P.A.
