As a high school teacher, I was worried that my kiddos would fall to the wayside, but I am so grateful that you all helped us reach our goal. My students are using the new resources to help themselves within the classroom. If they are doing any kind of independent or group activity then they are able to utilize the lap desks and quiet corner. They have been able to organize popcorn reading groups when the text is long or difficult to understand and sit over with the flexible seating as not to disturb their table members. \r\n\r\nThe paper and crayons have been great help! We have been taking great care of the crayons to make sure they last us a while, but they have been using them to create historical posters and group projects. It has also helped when students have down time as they are allowed to color in coloring pages as a silent or peaceful activity. They love doing that after exams! The lined paper has helped a lot of our students out as we do most of our work on paper. We utilize class notebooks, but kids who forget or have been unable to purchase one use the lined paper to complete any bellringers or exit tickets!\r\n\r\nThe personal hygiene items have come in handy! I have many students who forget or are unable to get hygiene products at home, so they will in my room and grab what they need. I have had kiddos that I don't teach come to me and ask if they can get what they need. It has saved a lot of kiddos from embarrassment! The snacks have been much appreciated too. My students who have food insecurity issues at home or are unable to eat outside of school hours will come to me to grab a snack or two to take home. They feel much more comfortable and cared for in class which makes a world of difference.","fullyFundedDate":1757947803028,"projectUrl":"project/help-high-school/9478195/","projectTitle":"Help High School","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Mikaela","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10084099_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752856642108","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10084099"},{"teacherId":7712024,"projectId":9312983,"letterContent":"When our students first saw the donated chairs, cart, and hydroponic system, their faces lit up with excitement. The chairs have quickly become a calm and welcoming space where students can reset, refocus, or collaborate with their peers. The cart has been a huge help in allowing me to move throughout the classroom with ease, meeting students where they are and giving more one-on-one support. The hydroponic system sparked the most curiosity, students immediately started brainstorming what we could grow and how it connects to our culinary work.\r\n\r\nWe are now beginning a collaborative project with one of our science classes where students will use the hydroponic system to grow herbs and vegetables. This project not only reduces food costs in our labs, but also teaches sustainability and food safety by growing food away from traditional sources of foodborne illness. Students will get hands-on experience with farm-to-table practices, learning how the food they grow can be harvested, prepared, and enjoyed right in our classroom.\r\n\r\nOur next step is incorporating the harvest from the hydroponic system into student recipes and menus. By connecting culinary arts with science, we are creating a true project-based learning experience that highlights sustainability, innovation, and safety. Your support has made it possible for our students to see the real-world impact of their learning, and for that, we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1746787383012,"projectUrl":"project/inspiring-classroom-environment/9312983/","projectTitle":"Inspiring Classroom Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cooley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7712024_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746222131210","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7712024"},{"teacherId":5270696,"projectId":9207016,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, The Outfit Outlet: A School Clothing Closet has quickly become a meaningful and impactful resource for our students. The closet is now fully stocked with essential clothing and hygiene items, offering students access to items they need in a supportive and respectful way. It has removed barriers to learning by helping students feel more comfortable and confident in their daily school experience.\r\n\r\nWhen students and staff learned about the clothing closet, the response was overwhelmingly positive. Teachers now have a discreet and reliable way to support students in need, and students have expressed appreciation for having a space where their needs are met without judgment. The closet is already helping to foster a greater sense of dignity, belonging, and care throughout our school.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we plan to integrate the closet into broader social-emotional learning and leadership opportunities. Students will soon have the chance to help maintain the space and lead donation drives, promoting ownership and empathy.
