I am sure you hear that a lot, but it truly is the most important thing I can say! WE have not had wipes in a year and the amount of students that are sick possibly because of dirty desks and computers is astonishing! We take extra steps in oir classroom and wash hands as a class before lunch to help lessen the sickness, but these wipes will help on a daily basis!\r\n\r\nI plan on having students wipe down their desks and computers weekly to maintain a level of cleanliness. I am hoping that this will increase student responsibility in maintaining a clean work space and help students get less sick. When students are present in the classroom, they are learning. When students are sick, they miss school. They started in September with identifying a problem in their community that they wanted to solve. They chose their basketball court, which has dirty, damaged, cracked, graffitied walls. They all agreed that if they could add some color to this space that it would help kids feel more inspired; inspired to be kinder to themselves and others, that they would generally feel more welcome and happy in their play space. So, my students all decided they wanted to paint a mural.\r\n\r\nThey are currently working hard on picking a design for the mural. That has proven to be one of the biggest challenges of this project so far. They are having to navigate differing opinions and the feelings that come with it. They are having to practice a variety of skills in this process: listening, being vulnerable, emotion regulation, collaboration, compromise, critical thinking, etc. Thank you for making this amazing opportunity possible.","fullyFundedDate":1769178139034,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-colorful-joyful-play-space-f/10001345/","projectTitle":"Creating A Colorful, Joyful Play Space for All","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rozario","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1040839_orig.jpg?crop=2089,2089,x72,y10&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1763501147579","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1040839"},{"teacherId":3581814,"projectId":9753668,"letterContent":"With your donation, our playground area got a fun and colorful addition!
