We were overjoyed (and a little awestruck) when we saw your name as our donor again, and amount of gratitude and humility I personal feel is unfathomable and indescribable.\r\n\r\nYour generosity means more than just materials. Because of you, our TK/Kindergarten students now have a vibrant, hands-on STEM center where they can dig, splash, build, explore, and play. We've received wonderful items like a sand-and-water sensory table, dinosaur fossil skeleton kits, flexible seating, science tables, and so much more. That means a huge shift: instead of learning science through pictures or words alone, our kids will get to touch, feel, experiment, and imagine. \r\n\r\nEvery day I see their curiosity grow: little scientists asking questions about nature, fossils, water, animals, and the world around them. For many of our students, opportunities like exploring fossils or water play, things other children might take for granted, aren't always accessible. Because of your gift, these children now have a safe, supportive space to discover, imagine, and grow. This simple act of kindness will shape how they see themselves: not just as students who receive facts, but as explorers, thinkers, and future stewards of the planet.\r\n\r\nI hope you know how deeply your support resonates, not only with me, but with 25 bright, eager young minds who believe that science is magic, that learning is an adventure, and that their ideas matter. I can't wait to send you photos of their happy faces, their discoveries, and the learning in action.\r\n\r\nFrom all of us... thank you, Linda! We're so grateful that you continue to invest in our classroom, our students, and their dreams.","fullyFundedDate":1760627388269,"projectUrl":"project/curiosity-in-bloom-a-thriving-stem-cent/9796402/","projectTitle":"Curiosity in Bloom: A Thriving STEM Center for Sprouting Scientists","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Feldtkeller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9412162_orig.jpg?crop=991,991,x0,y320&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760485019647","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/feldtkeller"},{"teacherId":9412162,"projectId":9541937,"letterContent":"I truly don't know where to begin, because saying thank you feels far too small for the enormous impact your generosity has made. When you chose to sponsor From Tears to Tranquility: A Calm Corner, you didn't just give my students some new materials, you gave them a safe haven, a sense of belonging, and the tools to understand and regulate their emotions in ways that will help them for years to come.\r\n\r\nSince the calm corner has been set up, I have seen transformations that brings so much warmth to my heart. I've watched little ones who would once crumble into tears in the middle of a lesson quietly walk themselves over, pick up a tool, and breathe until they felt ready to return. I've seen students who struggled with frustration find words instead of meltdowns. I've seen shy smiles of relief from children who now know they have a place where it's okay to just be.\r\n\r\nThe atmosphere in our classroom has completely shifted. It's calmer, kinder, and more connected. Students are learning that it's normal to have big feelings, and even more importantly, that there are healthy ways to work through them. Some of the sweetest moments have been when children gently encourage one another by saying, \"You can go to the calm corner if you need to. It helps me.\" That sense of empathy and understanding blooming between them is nothing short of magical.\r\n\r\nLinda, your kindness has not only changed how my students approach learning each day, but it has also given me such peace of mind as their teacher. I no longer feel helpless when a child is overwhelmed, I now have a space and the right tools to offer them, all because of you. And I can already see the long-term ripple effect: my students are gaining confidence in handling emotions, building resilience, and showing compassion toward themselves and others.\r\n\r\nEvery time I see a child walk back from the calm corner with a smile, ready to try again, I think of you. You may not be physically in our classroom, but your presence is felt every single day through the calm and joy you've made possible.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of every student who has already benefited (and all the ones who will in the future), THANK YOU. You have truly blessed us in ways words can hardly capture. Your generosity has created not just a calm corner, but a cornerstone of love, learning, and growth in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1754752122797,"projectUrl":"project/from-tears-to-tranquility-a-calm-corner/9541937/","projectTitle":"From Tears to Tranquility: A Calm Corner for Mindful Munchkins","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Feldtkeller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9412162_orig.jpg?crop=991,991,x0,y320&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760485019647","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/feldtkeller"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39987","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":152,"numTeachers":8,"percentFrplEligible":89,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":11,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":81,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":100.0,"schoolId":39987,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Olga L Reed Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Olga L Reed Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/orcutt-union-school-district/olga-l-reed-elementary-school/39987"}
