I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous contribution to our project, \"Empowering ISS Students: Supporting Mental Health for a Brighter Future.\" Your support has made a significant difference in the lives of my students and has brought a new sense of hope and possibility to our classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen the resources arrived, the students were filled with excitement and curiosity. Their faces lit up as they saw the tools and materials that would help them navigate their emotions, reduce stress, and build resilience. From mindfulness journals to sensory tools, each item has been a catalyst for meaningful growth and connection in our classroom.\r\n\r\nOne particularly impactful moment happened last week during a guided mindfulness session. Using the new sensory kits, students explored how different textures and tools could help them focus and relax. One student, who often struggles with anxiety, shared that the breathing exercises paired with the sensory tools helped them feel calm and \"in control\" for the first time in a while. Moments like these remind me how vital these resources are.\r\n\r\nCurrently, we're integrating these materials into a project on emotional self-awareness. Students are using the journals to reflect on their feelings and identify patterns, which ties directly into our lesson on understanding and managing emotions. The next step is for the students to create a \"Mental Health Toolkit\"—a personalized set of strategies and resources they can use both in and outside the classroom.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has provided more than materials—it has created an environment where students feel seen, supported, and empowered to take charge of their mental health. I can't thank you enough for believing in this project and for being a part of our journey.","fullyFundedDate":1727307699534,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-iss-students-supporting-ment/8817629/","projectTitle":"Empowering ISS Students: Supporting Mental Health for a Brighter Future","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jennings","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9427751"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32224","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1586,"numTeachers":94,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":35,"percentWhite":47,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"16.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.8,"schoolId":32224,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ola High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ola High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/henry-county-schools/ola-high-school/32224"}
