The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card has also allowed me to purchase many engaging resources that continue to better my therapy every day.\r\n\r\nThe students are absolutely loving the crayons for coloring and personalizing their activities, and our students with vision impairments have especially benefited from the light-up toys they bring excitement and engagement to their therapy sessions. The sheet protectors have been a huge help in keeping student data organized and protected. I switched the grade I teach this year after 18 years, and I had to rethink many of my lesson plans and prepare new tools for this new age group. \r\nIt was a daunting feeling, but thanks to you and other donors, I was put at ease right away, knowing I would have the necessary supplies I needed to succeed. \r\nYou have helped my students this year to be successful, too! \r\nWe received timers that are so cool! They are small and easily accessible, and they are visual, so students know exactly how much time is left on it. They have been essential for us. \r\nWe also received supplies to make schedules. This might seem like a small thing, but my students this year NEED a visual cue to get them where they need to go next. And the sad fact is, there was a lot of trial and error in getting the schedules right, so, knowing we had the stuff to redo as needed was really helpful. \r\n\r\nThank you, thank you. \r\nThank you for trusting us teachers with your donations and for trusting us to know what our students need. \r\nIt means so much.","fullyFundedDate":1755691009020,"projectUrl":"project/new-kindergarten-needs-new-supplies/9516643/","projectTitle":"New Kindergarten needs New Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Christina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7053870_orig.jpg?crop=1008,1008,x0,y858&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741969933220","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/teacher-christina"},{"teacherId":6916059,"projectId":9481195,"letterContent":"The books donated to our preschool are the foundation to our Read it Again Literacy Program. The lessons focus on vocabulary, narrative, phonological awareness, and print knowledge. \r\nWe make reading a multisensory experience for our preschool students. Our teachers do great incorporating visual, auditory, tactile and motor experiences while reading. One book that was loved was Rap a Tap Tap. It has a repetitive phrases \"Rap a Tap Tap, what do you think of that?\" The children were able to shake maracas repeating the line Rap a Tap Tap. \r\nAnother curriculum focus of our preschool is learning to identify emotions and participate in strategies that return to students to a state that is ready to learn. The children have enjoyed looking for emotions in the Read it Again books. Tyrannosaurus Wrecks was a book that the children could relate to. The students loved the chaos and mayhem. This collection of books about emotional regulation has helped me reach 5 separate classrooms since then, with children ages 3-6 years. \r\nLast spring, I introduced the books, particularly the ones about anxiety, as I had some very young students struggling with crippling anxiety, and I had a tough time relating my grown-up anxiety to what they were going through. The books gave a relatable character for them to listen to and explain the feelings on their level. \r\nThis school year I have slightly older kids. They love the colors of the spots. They thrill at checking in with their feelings. They do it several times a day. It is amazing to see them truly consider what their emotion is in the moment. Even when they are very angry or distressed. That's hard for me to do! \r\nMostly, though, they love the breathing exercises the book outlines. The breathwork is fun and engaging, and a wonderful, hopefully lifelong, practice for them.","fullyFundedDate":1742913985353,"projectUrl":"project/emotional-regulation-for-preschoolers/9168042/","projectTitle":"Emotional Regulation for Preschoolers!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Christina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7053870_orig.jpg?crop=1008,1008,x0,y858&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741969933220","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/teacher-christina"},{"teacherId":7192118,"projectId":9183237,"letterContent":"Thank you for your support of our school's project to provide quality supplies to our students. As stated before, in my initial request, these supplies are essential for making our program successful. The curriculums that we use here in our special education preschool program are geared for a regular education program. This means that almost every activity has to be modified and re-created by our teaching staff. The paper and lamination help us ensure that our hard work lasts for a long time. \r\nThe other supplies, such as cups, bowls, etc., allow us to serve an additional snack each day. During snack time we encourage students to use either their words or visuals to request what the would like to have and to let us know when we need more. We are able to offer cereal either with or without a bowl, and then we can talk about whether they need milk or a spoon, etc. Our cafeteria does not provide these items outside of breakfast or lunch. \r\nYour support allows my school to offer more opportunities for learning, communication, socialization as well as to meet the basic needs for our students and classrooms.
