In the classroom, the Promethean board functions as a large, interactive touch screen that allows lessons to come alive. Instead of watching me solve a problem on a whiteboard, students can come up, touch the screen, move numbers, draw models, and explain their thinking in real time. This active involvement has made learning more meaningful and memorable, especially in math, where abstract concepts can be difficult to visualize.\r\n\r\nThe Promethean board has been especially powerful for teaching fractions, decimals, and multi-step problem solving. Students can manipulate fraction bars, number lines, and area models directly on the screen, helping them see what the math means rather than just memorizing procedures. We can also instantly check for understanding, correct misconceptions together, and adjust lessons on the spot. This flexibility has been incredibly helpful in meeting the diverse learning needs in my classroom.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about the Promethean board is that learning feels interactive and fun. They love being able to \"do the math\" instead of just watching it. Even reluctant learners are eager to participate when they know they might get a turn at the board. The technology feels special to them—many of my students had only seen a Promethean board once or twice before in the Media Center, so having one in our classroom every day makes them feel valued and invested in.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have shown especially strong growth and confidence with this new technology. Students who struggle with attention or traditional pencil-and-paper work are more focused and engaged when lessons involve movement and hands-on interaction. English language learners and students who need extra support benefit from the visual models and the ability to replay or revisit concepts. One student who rarely volunteered answers now eagerly raises their hand to solve problems at the board, proud to explain their thinking to classmates.\r\n\r\nFor my Title I students—many of whom do not have access to advanced technology or academic support outside of school—the Promethean board has helped level the playing field. It gives them access to the same engaging, high-quality instructional tools found in more well-resourced districts. Just as importantly, it builds their confidence with educational technology, preparing them for future classrooms, careers, and a technology-driven world.\r\n\r\nBecause of this support, my classroom is no longer limited to static lessons. It is now a dynamic learning space where students collaborate, explore, and believe in their ability to succeed. Thank you for investing in my students and helping make this meaningful change possible.","fullyFundedDate":1757555515791,"projectUrl":"project/promethean-board-please/9526086/","projectTitle":"Promethean Board Please!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Davis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1398682_orig.jpg?crop=413,413,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754080914881","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/skropa"},{"teacherId":5083444,"projectId":9934106,"letterContent":"My scholars were excited when we received our materials for 'Rug for Reading'.
