It was the same here. All the new books that arrived had hardly gotten out of the box before they were asking to read them.\r\n\r\nThe challenge for any school librarian is getting books into kid's hands. Finding books that they are eager to read is another. Instead of contributing to landfills like synthetic versions, it is made from renewable, natural materials that can be composted at the end of its life.\r\n\r\nOur hope as we go forward are to not only learn about using sewing machines and doing hand sewing but how to be a good ambassadors for their future.","fullyFundedDate":1747331448167,"projectUrl":"project/expanding-our-students-sewing-skills/9350752/","projectTitle":"Expanding Our Students Sewing Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Debbi Sholes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9720640_orig.jpg?crop=1058,1058,x76,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728063184195","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9720640"},{"teacherId":9720640,"projectId":9096118,"letterContent":"The results for getting these sewing machines has been huge! Kids who couldn't afford going to a sewing store for lessons got ours for free, simply because they are our students. So far the kids have made; coffee sleeves, tote bags from feed bags, super cute squishy animals and toughest of all-quilt squares.\r\n\r\nStudents who came to our summer club now know how to un-pack and set of a machine, thread the machine, refill the thread bobbins, use a variety of sewing materials and ironing materials and much more.\r\n\r\nGoing forward I already have planned more projects including one on reusing found clothe like discard or outgrown clothes.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for adding this to our school.
