We have been able to add the two additional square systems to both of our school-based businesses, snack-cart and lemonade stand. Students are able to utilize hands-on learning about both technology and finances through the use of these systems, as well as increase and practice their social skills as they interact with different students on campus. This is probably the part of all of this that excites my students the most - being able to interact with different students throughout the school day. They are able to take orders, input the orders into the systems, and then show them where to pay.\r\n\r\nThis whole donation has been a great benefit to our unit. Students will be able to gain real life work experience skills by learning how to use a cash register and how to accept payments, manage inventory and do online sales.\r\n\r\nThis is a great learning opportunity for our students. During their high school years, learning functional and independent living skills is important for their success. This funded project is going beyond that and giving them experiences they may not have otherwise. A few of these LI students benefit from the chair as they are able to roll from table to table, helping their fellow NHHS Trojans. \r\n\r\nThese LI students are incredibly excited to participate in an activity that allows them to feel involved in our school community, and it warms my heart to see our seniors graciously interacting with these kids who, in other schools, may be left behind.
