With your help, I was able to get much-needed sensory supplies that have helped students at our school feel more at-ease, regulate their emotions, and stay on track during class time.\r\n\r\nOne of the projects that I'll be working on for next year's school year is putting together a library of information, books, and kits that can be checked-out with a student. They'll be able to take these items home, share them with their families, and learn about emotions, feelings, and more. Your support on that project will be much appreciated, as well.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you so much for your generosity to my students, myself, and my school. Your love and support is felt in my classroom daily. It allows for an engaging, auditory experience where students can listen to stories, songs, and educational content in a focused and personal way. Since each child can use their own set of headphones, they can work at their own pace without distractions, promoting independent learning. The audio also helps improve language skills, and listening comprehension, and even introduces them to new vocabulary. Plus, with the music and stories, students can engage in interactive learning, such as singing along or discussing the story afterward, encouraging creativity and verbal expression.\r\n\r\nWhat about the new product is most exciting to your students?\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for the students is being able to listen to their favorite songs and stories all by themselves through the headphones. It's like having their own special listening time! They love the independence it gives them, as they can choose what they want to listen to, whether it's an educational story, a fun song, or a lesson about a particular subject. The headphones also make the experience more immersive, which helps capture their attention and keeps them engaged in the content.\r\n\r\nAre there particular students who have especially warmed to this new technology, and how so?\r\n\r\nYes, some of our students, particularly those who might be shy or more introverted, have warmed to the CD player and headphones. They feel more comfortable and confident when they can listen to content on their own without the pressure of group work or classroom noise. Additionally, students with different learning styles, such as auditory learners, seem to benefit the most. These students are particularly excited about being able to absorb information in a way that suits their learning needs, whether it's through songs that reinforce numbers and letters or listening to stories that help with comprehension and vocabulary building.","fullyFundedDate":1734530626310,"projectUrl":"project/listen-up-mini-mountaineers/8988669/","projectTitle":"Listen Up Mini Mountaineers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Backlund","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8809115_orig.jpg?crop=555,555,x0,y490&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733967630868","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8809115"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54606","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":263,"numTeachers":14,"percentFrplEligible":79,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"18.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":71.2,"schoolId":54606,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/iron-mountain-public-school-district/north-elementary-school/54606"}
