Students were so excited to see it in our game room and even more excited after they had a chance to play it. \r\nIt's great to have an incentive for students to work toward throughout the day, and now they do. Students have to show ROARS (Respect, Ownership, Responsibility, Attitude & Safety) 80% of their day in order to earn the game room. Toward the end of the day, students complete an Exit Ticket where they reflect on their day. This self- reflection helps them to understand why they did, or did not, earn the Fun Factory incentive. \r\nWhile in the game room, students have the opportunity to engage in friendly competition; an under-developed skill in our student population. They get to practice all the components of social emotional learning, including self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making skills, and relationship skills. \r\nThis room has been a game changer for our program and we all thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making it possible!","fullyFundedDate":1732528330012,"projectUrl":"project/the-fun-factory-game-room/8946824/","projectTitle":"The Fun Factory Game Room!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lindsey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9839313_orig.jpg?crop=1244,1244,x0,y66&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732048423107","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9839313"},{"teacherId":6562369,"projectId":8712129,"letterContent":"This semester, my students have improved their writing skills by creating a writing habit with their journals, and that is all due to your generosity. Writing skills are a huge part of improving literacy, and journaling is a great way to help them create a habit of writing regularly. Journaling also helps them process what they are learning while finding a way to relate to what they are reading. They can use writing as a way to regulate their emotions as well. \r\n\r\nThe short story compilations are helpful in an alternative learning community because the reading can happen quickly. Where attendance is a struggle, it helps the students improve their literacy while having time to read and complete the assignments in class.
