Overhauling a library is not an easy or inexpensive task. As I begin to eat this elephant one bite at a time, I try to tune into what my patrons, our students, need and want. I want the resources I purchase to be relevant to their needs. \r\n\r\nEarly in the school year, I started to see a lot of traffic from our middle school population in search of resources for their annual National History Day projects. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to help them much initially. Our library just didn't have what they were looking for. The books I could pull for them were outdated and limited. However, what I did gain was inspiration for this project which was my first big push to update our stacks.\r\n\r\nThe titles I purchased were a great help to our students' History Day research. Plus, I have seen additional circulation of our new books simply because the topics are high-interest and new books catch the eye. The books we added to our library will continue to aid our middle and high school students for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1734808860155,"projectUrl":"project/rights-and-responsibilities-history-day/8844337/","projectTitle":"Rights and Responsibilities: History Day Research","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wheeler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1494593_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1458765529222","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/na-library"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_76437","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":296,"numTeachers":12,"percentFrplEligible":22,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":99,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"24.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":51.0,"schoolId":76437,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North Andrew School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North Andrew School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/missouri/north-andrew-school-district-r6/north-andrew-school/76437"}
