Thanks to your support in funding the project for free lanyards, we've seen a wonderful shift that goes far beyond just holding an ID card—it's actually helping us boost student literacy.\r\n\r\nThe Impact: Free Lanyards, More Reading\r\nLanyards, as simple as they are, are essential for our students to carry their ID cards, which they need to check out books and use the computers. Previously, losing a lanyard often meant a fee, which could be a hardship for some families and would sometimes discourage students from coming to the library if they knew they'd have to pay.\r\n\r\nNow, because of your donation, we are able to use these new, high-quality lanyards as a powerful tool for encouraging reading. Instead of charging for lost ones, we are giving them out as rewards and incentives.\r\n\r\nHere's how it's working:\r\n\r\nReading Rewards: Students are now earning a new lanyard by meeting reading goals, participating in library challenges, or demonstrating great effort during our literacy activities.\r\n\r\nAbolishing the \"Lanyard Tax\": By eliminating the cost barrier, we've removed a source of anxiety and a reason for students to avoid the library. They can focus on what matters most: reading.\r\n\r\nThank you, again, for partnering with us to create a positive, engaging, and barrier-free environment for our students' literacy growth. Your commitment to our students is truly making a difference every single day.\r\n\r\nWith heartfelt appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1746787032829,"projectUrl":"project/lanyards-for-library-rewards-encouragin/9305676/","projectTitle":"Lanyards for Library Rewards: Encouraging Responsibility Daily","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fisher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9895215"},{"teacherId":6534439,"projectId":4222028,"letterContent":"I am incredibly grateful for your generous support in providing our classroom with an Apple iPad! This amazing resource has truly transformed the way my students learn, engage, and explore new concepts.\r\n\r\nWith the iPad, my students now have access to interactive learning apps, digital tools, and creative projects that enhance their understanding in ways that traditional methods couldn't. Whether using it for research, practicing math skills, reading digital books, or creating multimedia presentations, the iPad has opened up endless learning opportunities. It has also been a powerful tool for differentiation, allowing me to tailor lessons to meet the unique needs of each student.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, the iPad has increased student engagement and motivation. The excitement they show when using it for educational activities is incredible! As RLA classes visited the library students saw them and couldn't wait to hop on, start pedaling, and get lost in a good book or work on their assignments. These bike desks have become a favorite spot in the library, giving students a way to move while they read, research, and collaborate. It's been incredible to see how they help students stay focused, especially those who need a little movement to keep their minds engaged.\r\n\r\nNow, our library isn't just a place for books—it's a space for learning in motion! Whether they're reviewing notes, working on research projects, or just enjoying a great book, students are finding new ways to stay active while learning.
