Your contributions have made our classroom more productive, colorful, and organized, helping our 7th and 8th grade special education students greatly. The supplies you funded are now part of our daily learning and classroom culture.\r\n\r\nStudents begin each day by checking the whiteboard sticker walls for their group tasks. These dry-erase surfaces, along with Lelix felt-tip pens and sticky notes, have changed how we brainstorm and stay focused. In a recent group writing lesson, students moved through stations using Post-it easel pads to map out their ideas and then used Amazon Basics printer paper to draft and print their final work.\r\n\r\nThe student grouping pencils have greatly improved our classroom teamwork—students get excited to learn their teams! They are learning to work together while also practicing independence, thanks to clearly labeled hall passes and sanitized materials kept clean with Lysol wipes and spray.\r\n\r\nOne student was thrilled to use a brand-new box of Crayola crayons for his science project poster. \"These are the good kind!\" he said happily. After all the creativity, the whiteboard cleaner spray keeps our writing areas clean and free from marks.\r\n\r\nNext, we are starting a multi-step research project. Students will use their whiteboard sections, easel pads, and group tools to plan, present, and revise their work. These materials help our students stay organized, feel respected, and take pride in what they do. You have not only provided supplies; you have invested in their confidence and sense of community.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this change possible!","fullyFundedDate":1647569904137,"projectUrl":"project/desk-space/6297813/","projectTitle":"Desk Space","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Murtha","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-tmurtha"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_95998","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":185,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":61,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":26,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"5.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":95998,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Newell Barney Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Newell Barney Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/queen-creek-unified-school-district/newell-barney-junior-high-school/95998"}
