With these books students have developed a whole new love for reading. They enjoy seeing characters and reading stories they can relate to. It has allowed us to introduce diverse cultures and identities in the classroom where students can learn more about each other.\r\n\r\nWe have also used the books for close reading, character analysis and identifying themes - skills that help students think more deeply about what they read and make meaningful connections to their own lives. Every week we participate in DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) which allows students to read anywhere in the classroom with any book of their choosing. This is their favorite part of the week. Even our reluctant readers have become some of the most enthusiastic about our DEAR time. They are asking if they can bring the books home or for more reading time. \r\n\r\nMany of the stories also support vocabulary development and spark rich conversations about empathy, perseverance and problem solving. Many couldn't believe these high quality tools were actually for them. They were immediately eager to jump in, try new exercises, and explore the powerful stories waiting on our new classroom bookshelf. It was more than just excitement, it was a sense of ownership, pride, and belonging.\r\n\r\nWe've used the gloves and pads during weekly enrichment sessions, pairing fitness routines with guided reading time and reflections based on culturally relevant books like Becoming Muhammad Ali. Students are developing discipline, focus, and teamwork while exploring themes like perseverance, identity, and leadership through literature. One student shared, \"I didn't know reading could feel like this, and boxing makes me feel strong.\" These moments are exactly why this project matters.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, we've created a space where students who often feel overlooked are now seen, heard, and empowered. Because of your support, my classroom is now filled with books that reflect my students' passions, cultures, and curiosities, from anime and superheroes to poetry and powerful stories that represent who they are. Watching my students light up as they dive into titles like My Hero Academia, Goosebumps, Cells at Work!, and Hair Love has been truly inspiring. For many, this was the first time they saw themselves in the pages of a book, and that has made all the difference.\r\n\r\nReading in my classroom now looks like excitement, conversation, and curiosity. Because of your support, my classroom has been transformed into an interactive, hands-on learning environment where students are actively engaging with technology, science, and sustainability in ways they never have before.\r\n\r\nWith the introduction of our aquaponics system, students are now responsible for maintaining a self-sustaining ecosystem, connecting their understanding of biology, environmental science, and engineering. Watching fish and plants thrive in harmony has made abstract STEM concepts more tangible, sparking curiosity and deeper discussions about sustainability. Our classroom pet, the red morph bearded dragon, has also become a favorite, encouraging students to take responsibility and learn about reptile care and habitats. The excitement really peaked when we started using drones to explore environmental monitoring, helping students grasp real-world applications of technology in agriculture and conservation.\r\n\r\nOne student, Ava, who usually struggles with engagement, has become incredibly invested in tracking plant growth and testing water quality in the aquaponics system. Another student, Zamier, has found a new passion in programming the drones, showing a level of focus and determination that has truly impressed me. Seeing my students' confidence grow as they problem-solve and collaborate has been the most rewarding part of this journey.\r\n\r\nNone of this would have been possible without your kindness and belief in the power of innovative, hands-on education.
