We are using the new reading games during small-group rotations, literacy centers, and partner practice. \r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students couldn't wait to explore the games, and several asked, \"Are these really for us?\" Seeing their faces light up was such a powerful reminder of how meaningful your support is. They felt special, valued, and proud to have new tools that make learning both fun and challenging.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we are continuing to use these resources to strengthen comprehension and fluency skills during our current reading unit. Students are applying strategies from whole-group lessons directly into the games, which reinforces their learning in a hands-on way. Thanks to you, they are growing not only as readers, but also as confident learners who know there are people beyond our classroom rooting for their success.","fullyFundedDate":1769177270679,"projectUrl":"project/game-on-reading-skills-in-action/9983625/","projectTitle":"Game On: Reading Skills in Action!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cargile","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10396967"},{"teacherId":10058984,"projectId":9421472,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has been transformed into an organized, colorful, and creative space that truly inspires my students every day.\r\nThe first time my 4th graders saw the new resources, their faces lit up. They immediately started planning how to use the colored markers and tape to design science posters, decorate their math charts, and add personal touches to their interactive notebooks. One group even used the masking tape to create a \"path\" showing the steps of the scientific method on our classroom wall — it quickly became a class favorite and reference point during experiments.\r\nThe rolling storage cart and cubbies have also made a huge difference. Students love having a clear place to find supplies, and it has helped us spend less time searching and more time learning. The buzzers have been a hit during review games — students cheer, laugh, and compete to solve math problems or answer science questions, turning practice into one of the highlights of the week.\r\nRight now, we're diving into a unit on energy and motion. Students are building small roller coasters and using the flashcards and workbooks for practice on measurement and graphing. With the new tools, they're creating colorful data charts to track their results, and their projects are not only accurate but also visually engaging.\r\nNext, we'll continue using these resources to support hands-on projects, review games, and daily practice. Most importantly, my students are developing pride in their work, excitement for learning, and confidence in their abilities — all made possible because of you.\r\nThank you for believing in my students and investing in their growth.","fullyFundedDate":1757515603955,"projectUrl":"project/stemstars-in-the-making-help-us-build/9421472/","projectTitle":"STEMStars in the Making: Help Us Build, Create & Explore!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vance","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10058984_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751218994404","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10058984"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_11027","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":684,"numTeachers":45,"percentFrplEligible":88,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":85,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.6,"schoolId":11027,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about McLaughlin Strickland Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"McLaughlin Strickland Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/carrollton-farmers-branch-isd/neil-ray-mclaughlin-elementary-school/11027"}
