Not only did they learn important hands-on learning tasks with plants and living things, they also were able to critically think about how plants grow and what they need to survive.\r\nThe materials we received were beautiful! Everyone got to grow multiple plants and we read books that were practical and kid friendly. My bigger kids even got to plan their own garden plots!\r\nThey loved everything we did and begged for more. My students get very few opportunities to do projects like this. We are at a low income school and I take every chance I can to engage them fully in real world projects.","fullyFundedDate":1742928625200,"projectUrl":"project/growing-community-leaders-one-garden-at/9169698/","projectTitle":"Growing Community Leaders One Garden at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Yates","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2767561_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1504216292560","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2767561"},{"teacherId":9894969,"projectId":9061885,"letterContent":"I want to begin by sincerely thanking you for your generous donations to my classroom. Your support made a meaningful difference in the daily experience of my students and enhanced our learning environment in such impactful ways.\r\n\r\nThe first item to arrive was the student mail organizer, and it couldn't have come at a better time. With a class of 24 energetic second graders this year, it was important to give each student a sense of ownership and organization. The mail station quickly became an essential part of our routine—it helped streamline sending work home, organizing spelling tests and important flyers, and keeping student materials neatly separated for parent-teacher conferences. It truly gave each child their own little \"space\" within the classroom.\r\n\r\nSoon after, we received the personal laminator, which turned out to be a game changer not just for my classroom but for our entire second-grade team. Our school's laminator is often out of order and in high demand, so having one of our own made a world of difference. I was able to laminate a Lotería game for our Spring Festival, Valentine's Day letters written by parents to their children, and their end-of-year memory books—keepsakes they'll cherish for years.\r\n\r\nThanks to your kindness, these tools helped create a more organized, joyful, and engaging learning space for my students. We are truly grateful for your generosity and support.","fullyFundedDate":1740437287900,"projectUrl":"project/1st-year-teacher/9061885/","projectTitle":"1st Year Teacher","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Maldonado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9894969"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82449","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":361,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":91,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":43.6,"schoolId":82449,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Navajo Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Navajo Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-mexico/albuquerque-public-schools/navajo-elementary-school/82449"}
