Students choosing to use the calming corner independently, practicing deep breaths, and returning to learning with renewed confidence.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, this space has become a place where big feelings become manageable. I've watched children go from sadness to joy, frustration to focus, and overwhelm to peace. These small but meaningful gains happen because of the tools and environment you helped provide.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my classroom, my students, and the importance of social-emotional learning at such a young age. The materials brought some of their favorite stories to life in a way that was hands-on and exciting. During our first circle time with the kits, I watched students eagerly take turns placing characters and props on the felt board as we retold the story together. Even children who are usually shy about speaking up were raising their hands to add pieces and share what came next in the tale.\r\n\r\nThe reaction from my students was priceless! many gasped when they saw the familiar characters in felt form and immediately wanted to touch and explore them. For some of my students, this tactile experience has been especially powerful, giving them a new way to engage with books, practice sequencing, and build language skills. One student proudly announced, \"I can tell the story too!\" and then retold it on her own using the pieces. Moments like this highlight just how impactful these materials are for early literacy development.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my classroom is now filled with storytelling opportunities that connect imagination with learning. The felt stories are helping us with comprehension, vocabulary, and cooperative play while making reading time something every child looks forward to. We are currently working on pairing the felt stories with our own student-made storybooks, so children can retell their favorite tales and then create their own. The stencils, texture brushes, and finger crayons immediately drew them in, and it wasn't long before they were experimenting and creating. One of our first projects was making nature rubbings with the Numbers & Counting plates. The children were amazed as numbers and patterns \"magically\" appeared on their paper, and they proudly shared their creations with one another. These materials have opened the door to new conversations about shapes, textures, and creativity in a way that feels playful and engaging.\r\n\r\nThe reaction from my students was pure joy. Many of them had never used watercolor brush pens before, and their curiosity was endless as they discovered how different tools make different effects. One child spent nearly twenty minutes layering colors with the sponge painting set, proudly showing off her \"rainbow garden.\" Another student, who is usually hesitant to try new activities, jumped right in when he saw the lightweight aprons and felt comfortable knowing he could explore without making a mess.\r\n\r\nThese resources continue to support our lessons in literacy, math, and fine motor development, all through the lens of art. We are currently working on an \"All About Me\" project where students use the stencils and brushes to design their own story pages. This is just the beginning—your generosity has given my preschoolers the chance to express themselves in new and meaningful ways, and I can't wait to see how their creativity continues to blossom throughout the year.","fullyFundedDate":1750773717261,"projectUrl":"project/inspiring-young-artists-through-creative/9382900/","projectTitle":"Inspiring Young Artists Through Creative Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lisa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9434823"},{"teacherId":9434823,"projectId":9034405,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our STEM project! Because of your kindness, my preschoolers now have exciting, hands-on tools that spark curiosity, encourage problem-solving, and build early science, technology, engineering, and math skills in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nThe Bee-Bot robot has been a huge hit in our classroom—our students love programming it to move across the floor, and in doing so, they're developing sequencing, spatial awareness, and teamwork. The Roll and Race ramps have become a favorite in our exploration center, helping young learners investigate cause and effect, motion, and design in a fun and engaging way. The Explorers Geomakers allow them to build creatively while learning about shapes, structure, and balance. And the book STEM Play has been a fantastic resource for integrating these materials across our learning centers with intention and purpose.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these materials make learning feel like play. I've seen students who are typically hesitant to engage jump right in, collaborating, experimenting, and celebrating their discoveries. These early experiences lay the groundwork for future confidence in STEM subjects—and it's all thanks to you.","fullyFundedDate":1743093093074,"projectUrl":"project/building-young-innovators-stem-toys-for/9034405/","projectTitle":"Building Young Innovators: STEM Toys for Pre-K Explorers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lisa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9434823"},{"teacherId":9773333,"projectId":8939746,"letterContent":"This project made such a difference in our classroom. This class was so excited for the new gross motor equipment. We are able to use the swings during our small group center time. Now that the weather has been nice we will bring the swings into the outdoor classroom space! The swings are safe, fun and make all of the kids laugh. My classroom is an inclusive setting and half of the students have special needs. The students benefit from taking motor breaks and having an outlet for their energy! The stepping stones are used to incorporate movement and learning. I set up obstacle courses that incorporate a movement task, like matching letters or sorting colors into baskets. The kids get to practice these skills while moving their bodies. They love it! It is so exciting to have new activities for our classroom. Each edition comes with a large teacher copy that I can hang on my chart to model how to use it. \r\nThe best part about the scholastic magazines is that each student gets to take it home.
