As our students prepare to take the exciting step into kindergarten, we're sending them off with a special gift, Dr. Seuss coloring books to treasure the time they spent in our class and to carry a little piece of our learning community with them.\r\n\r\nWhile these aren't traditional storybooks, they are filled with playful rhymes, whimsical characters, and opportunities for creative expression. As children color in the pages of their Dr. Seuss books, they'll be reinforcing fine motor skills, exploring storytelling through art, and building confidence in their ability to express themselves.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading and creativity go hand in hand. We've spent the year building early literacy skills through storytime, song, and play. Coloring has been a calming and beloved activity where students could unwind, reflect, and connect with the themes we discussed in class. The Dr. Seuss coloring books are the perfect way to blend those experiences into a keepsake they can enjoy at home.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. Your thoughtful contributions have already made such a positive impact on our students, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the difference you've made in our learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe Velcro strips for the students to attach their names each day has been such a wonderful addition. It may seem like a small detail, but it has proven to be an invaluable tool for helping the students feel a sense of ownership and responsibility as they sign in each morning. The students really enjoy being able to Velcro their names themselves, and it has provided a lovely opportunity for them to begin their day with a sense of independence and accomplishment.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the Velcro, the feelings chart has also become a daily ritual that the students look forward to. It's remarkable how a simple visual tool can help young children express their emotions and understand each other's feelings. It has encouraged them to reflect on how they're feeling each day and to develop social-emotional awareness in such a meaningful way. This connection helps to foster a nurturing and supportive classroom environment.\r\n\r\nThe interactive math game you provided has quickly become a favorite in our class. New toys, fidgets and materials are always an exciting way to keep the students engaged, and this game has been a fantastic way to integrate fun and learning. Not only are the students developing their math skills through sorting, counting, and taking turns, but they're also practicing important social skills like patience and cooperation. It's been so rewarding to see their excitement as they engage with the game and develop new skills in the process.\r\n\r\nThe pins to display students' work are another thoughtful addition that has brought so much pride to our classroom. Each student now has the opportunity to see their work showcased on the wall, which has been a source of joy and motivation for them. It's amazing how something as simple as seeing their creations on display can boost their self-esteem and encourage them to continue doing their best. It truly makes them feel seen and valued in our classroom.\r\n\r\nLastly, I want to thank you for the classroom helpers poster with visuals. This has been an absolute lifesaver for me and the students alike. The visual reminders have made it easier for the students to understand their responsibilities and feel a sense of pride in their roles. It has helped me keep track of tasks, and it has given the students more ownership of their daily activities, making them feel like important contributors to our classroom community.\r\n\r\nYour kindness and generosity have had a profound impact on our classroom, and I am so incredibly grateful for your support. You have made learning more engaging, accessible, and meaningful for these young minds, and I cannot thank you enough for your thoughtful donations. It is because of supporters like you that we are able to provide the best learning experience possible for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1742823945178,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-must-have/9077328/","projectTitle":"Classroom Must Have!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cardenas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5259340_orig.jpg?crop=481,481,x0,y1&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1637771362941","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5259340"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82195","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":343,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":3,"percentAsian":20,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":59,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.3,"schoolId":82195,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mt Horeb Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mt Horeb Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/warren-township-school-district/mt-horeb-elementary-school/82195"}
